Those floors are going to be beautiful when you get finished with them.

Waterlox is what you want

Hey thanks. Any place to get in local?

I’m not sure, I ordered online, but it has been years. Google it and see what you can find

This stuff is so tight grain, it is unreal. Dime size, one can count easy 12-15 year growth. Came out of a school in New Orleans that was built around 1900. It has never been sanded. Used up three sets of planer knives just to get varnish/wax off it.

Old pine is awesome. My old house near city park had that and it got doused for Katrina. Insurance gave me replacement cost, but I sanded and polyurethaned and it still looked great when I sold the place 5 years later.
Long lasting and looks great too.

Wick, nothing local. Going to just have to wait a couple months before finishing that flooring out. Got to have surgery on the 28.

Damn, hope you have a speedy recovery l. Let me know if you need something

Will do. Sparky has to be changed out. Couple months down time and I should have a bonner like a 17 year old again.

I hope you at least paid for an increase.

New CRT-D. I'm so skinny, they going to have a hard time putting it in. One I have now sticks out a easy 1". But hey, was at 200 lbs at that time. Was 161 this morning.

Fishfighter,
I gotta tell you, I wouldn't put anything on those floors but about 4-5 coats of Johnson's Paste Wax. Buff between coats. Obviously requires more maintenance than a varnish or urethane or similar, but not so much as you'd think. Depending on traffic on the floor, clean and rewax every couple of years.

One of, if not the most controversial opinions in this world is what to finish wood floors with. You can talk to professional floors guys and read forums on the internet until your eyes bleed and at the end of the day you still won't be any closer to a decision. Truly frustrating.

So true on finishes. As for as traffic, there will be little. This is a guest house unless I move in.

I have never found Waterlox reasonably priced locally. Shop around online because the price and shipping varies significantly. Also, make sure you are getting the correct gloss because their products are labeled a little different.
