I know 17.5 percent are allocated to each conference champion, but how does the selection process work?

last time, the saints put the number of season tickets * the number of years the season ticket holder had tickets into a drawing and pulled whatever number of tickets were left after they(saints workers/players/coaches/etc) took the tickets they wanted.

This. We had our name pulled on the second allocation. FYI, we have 2 tickets and our firs year was 2001.

It was a totally random drawing in 2009. Everyone had the same chance regardless of how long you had tickets. A lot of the long tome ticket holders were up in arms about this.

See I seem to remember them telling me you got more entries based on how long you’ve had tickets. Maybe not

My parents got pulled in 09. I'm definitely putting in for them if possible this year.

I think the said they would do something like that in the future but there were ticket holders from Tulane stadium who didn’t get tickets but people who just got tickets that year won the SB lottery.

My parents took over my grandfather's season tickets after he died in 2005. My grandfather was a season ticket holder in the 80s. We have 2 tickets in section 155. We didn't get pulled in 2009-2010 but am hoping like hell we do this go round.

It was weighted for sure. Guy is wrong.

How do we put in for them? Will we get an email?

It was just random drawing. Longer you've been a season ticket holder, the better shot you have.

You got an entry for every season ticket you had for however many years you had them. So someone who had 2 tickets for thirty years would have less of a chance than someone like me who had 7 seats for 15 years. It was a random drawing anyway so it's possible that many longtime owners didn't get picked.

The Saints will make available an initial allocation of 4,000 tickets, with recipients chosen through a weighted lottery based on the number of years as a season ticket holder and the number of tickets in the account. That's the same process used in the past for season ticket holders winning lotteries for tickets to Super Bowls held in New Orleans.
