Eric Reid thinks the NFL is picking on him

I get Reid’s point. Seven times since he came back is pretty ridiculous. The drug testing is supposed to be independent from the NFL, but this doesn’t look good. If any truth to it can be proven, Goodell is demonstrating extreme stupidity. Why give Reid and his lawyers more ammunition in his collusion case?

Reid posted on social media following Sunday's loss to the New Orleans Saints that he had his seventh random test since signing with the Panthers in late September. He put "random'' in quotes.

Reid continues to suggest the NFL is targeting him because of his collusion grievance against the league. The grievance was filed in May by the NFLPA on Reid's behalf, alleging team owners and the league, influenced by President Donald Trump, colluded to prevent Reid's employment because of his protests against social injustice during the pregame national anthem.
quote:
Beyond the drug tests, Reid was fined $10,026 for his unsportsmanlike penalty against Philadelphia tight end Zach Ertz and another $10,026 for his hit of Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger that resulted in his ejection, which Reid and Rivera said was unwarranted. Reid also was fined $26,739 for his hit on a defenseless player (Tampa Bay's Adam Humphries).

In fairness to the NFL with the penalties and fines being racked up, roid rage isn't exactly implausible.

Obviously he is being targeted

Reid is right on this one.
Not that it matters, but he’s got more ammunition for his case.

Having a victim mentality was never cool.

Agree, but he has a point here.

7 times is a bit suspect especially when you consider he hasn’t played a full season.

The NFL would blatantly target Reid in this situation too. They are a dumbfrick organization for sure.

I mean, Reid may actually be right in this situation.

I’m far away from being liberal. This is just the NFL being stupid for no reason.

I have no idea how the random drug test system works in the NFL, but I know our system at my work has gotten “hung up” on some people including myself (roughly 9 random tests in 12 months).
He needs to stop being a bitch. Passing that test is a condition of employment. Deal with it.

I’m officially revoking his LSU card in my own headspace. What a whiny bitch. I saw him launch at Michael Thomas with Thomas having both knees on the ground and not even attempt to tackle him. Was pretty blatant. If he runs around like that every game, come on. You’re gonna get fined. If it weren’t for Jaylon Smith it would have been the worst instance of a missed targeting call I’d seen all year on a Saints player, and even then it might have been worse as Kamara wasn’t defenseless.

What’s the classic line- just cause youre paranoid doesn’t mean they aren’t actually after you?
He might complain too much but it doesn’t mean it’s unfounded

Everyone knows it isn't random. In any sport. Eric Thames of the Milwaukee Brewers got "randomly" drug tested after every game during that stretch last year when he hit like 6 homers in 4 games or whatever.
