Agreed. And work on removing illegals who came here legally and overstayed.

At this pace the 3 billion will be raised in about 14 years.

I’ll repeat what I said last night... This is fricking stupid.

1) GoFundme is making a killing, taking 5% right off the top
2) Once done, will be lucky if money isn’t embezzled by organizers
3) What is going to be done with the money? Organizers can’t pay construction companies to build the wall... Will have to go through the Govt. You think once you sign over a check to the govt, its going to go where you think? LOfrickingL. People who are donating are just helping support social programs they prob dont agree with

Are people lying about their support for the wall, rep?

Scared their car might get keyed?

If the polls are wrong, why couldn't a republican prez, senate, and house get the wall built?

To me, this is probably the most effective way to go about this. Increase man power and surveillance resources to effectively police the area. That way the dems stop bitching about the wall and the border is more secure

The real price tag is $20B minimum. And we just handed out $10B to the countries we want to keep out.

Such a shitshow.

That wasn't me speaking as to the worthiness of the cause. That was me speaking to people blindly giving money to someone or some organization that they know nothing about. Just like the whole veteran GFM scam a few months ago.

That's why I said "sort of retards" for giving up the money.

The only thing stopping me from figuring out how to use GoFundMe and then donating money to the wall fund is that I cannot figure out how the guy who started the GoFundMe would turn the money over to the wall builder in the first place. Plus, I don't want GoFundMe earning commissions on the money. Plus, although I have no reason to doubt the sincerity of the guy who started the GoFundMe, what's to stop him from pocketing the money.

I've been mandatorily paying Federal Income Taxes my entire adult life, and I can count on one hand the things that the Federal Government spends my money on that I want the Federal Goverment spending my money on. One of the things I WANT them to spend my money on IS A frickING WALL. I just don't see what the sensible argument is against a wall.

In short, would voluntarily pay my fair share towards the wall - if I could assure myself it would actually go to the wall.

I'm not really opposed to constructing or reinforcing the wall in certain places, but in most cases, it's just a waste of time and money that could be better spent on more effective tactics. I think it's a way better approach politically and it gets the job done in a more efficient manner

I don't think the plan was wall from Cali into Texas anyway, I got a nice tour a few years ago of the sensors and various other toys the Border Patrol currently uses.

It's smart because he set the goal so high (won't be reached), it's just a gesture and money will be refunded. No one will lose any $$$ out of this

GoFundMe isn't Kickstarter.

You get the funds regardless of meeting goal or not in GFM

I don't necessarily think it was either, but most people here think that's the plan and it's in no way realistic or effective.

I've been along the border in areas with no wall and the network of cameras is pretty extensive. They just don't have the manpower to catch the illegals

Huh. I guess I'm not the only one who's starting to think maybe Mexico isn't going to pay for that wall.

Those polls?
The RCP polling average had Hillary winning the popular vote by 3.3%. She won by 2.1% with almost 30% of the polls finding Trump support greater than the final result, with the highest giving him 4.1% more support than that result.

The HIGHEST support in any poll for the wall from just a couple days ago, is 43% (with 54% opposed) and the average would be lower than that.

So using the polling errors from 2016 does not favor an argument that the MAJORITY of Americans support the wall. Even using the HIGHEST support, it would have to by almost 6 times GREATER than the AVERAGE.
