Link to 30 second spot
Can't stand it.
They built it around a tag line, "Tradition doesn't always have to be traditional", which is innocuous enough.
But they flesh it out by taking it to an almost absurd extreme, showing a party with "dad", "mom", "sister", then "mom's new boyfriend" (who is some hippie new age guy painting a picture); "his stepdaughter" (some goth-looking chick), then "dad's new family", other characters, then finally some complete goof of a character with the heading "whoever this guy is".
I get the impression it's just some hipster millennial making this commercial, taking a shite on the generally shared family values of previous generations. Family values, in my mind, that made western civilization great.
Previous Heineken Christmas commercials (like last year's, with Benicio Del Toro) were amusing, funny; something everyone could appreciate. I don't get how this commercial is supposed to sell beer, unless it's to similar-minded young people.-- to me, this commercial is likely to run the risk of alienating a lot of potential customers.

This is the GOAT Heineken Christmas commerical
After he says "I got this for myself", I always do the "HHHHHHHHHHHHHEE" laugh in unison with him. Pisses my lady off to no end.

I can't tell if you are really taking this commercial that seriously or if you're trolling at an extremely high level.

If this commercial makes you angry, you are pretty pathetic. All it’s stating is that in our now fricked up world, families are more dysfunctional. Period.

Is the afro guy with glasses a young Howard Stern??

I got absolutely nothing out of the commercial.
I guess the point is that people and families are weird sometimes, which can make the holidays a little awkward.
Good thing you got beer though.

Well that is the new typical family unit. At least they didn’t put a trans in there

Think it's just a divorced parents thing.
Not the Jerry's parents living out their cuck/voyeur fetish from Rick and Morty.

People born in the early 80s through the mid 90s are not the ones running advertising companies brah. That would be younger boomers and Gen Xers.

Downvote if you want but I work in production and the people we answer to that make decisions are not my age or younger. They are all a bunch of dudes with old balls.

I no longer like the message of Deano's song. But I love hearing it, and I even walk around the house singing it.
Yes, I've got "Sixty Year Old Single Man" issues.
