Sago Palm question?

Just moved into the new homestead, and it has a, what seems to me, a fairly mature sago in the back yard. Have 3 mutts so it has to go. Any of y’all ever bought/sold one? Just trying to get an idea if I can sell it for decent money or am better off just letting someone come dig it up and take it away for free? Thanks for the help fellas.

The 90’s called and want their palm back...

That’s no joke. Not too far from cutting the sob down and tossing it.

One of our pups ate a bulb the female put off. A week and $800 later he survived.
Tow strap and four wheeler worked wonders for yanking ours out the ground.

If you cut it down, better make sure you get/pick up every particle off the ground as well.

I would dig it up and try to sell it for $40. Someone should come and get it for that price (What I've done in the past) But definitely get rid of it if you have dogs.

Yep it’s gone soon one way or the other. My dogs have an appetite for shrubbery too.

If you find that buyer, let them know I'll sell them mine for $39.

This is how I've read is the best way to remove them.

I just took a chain saw to mine and dig it up. I had 3 of them and offered them free to whoever came dig them up. No one wanted them so I took care of it. Used a tow strap and my truck to rip them out of the ground.

They are everywhere. Pull it out and toss it.

Had a landscape guy tell me that large ones dont transplant well, that around 1 in 3 will survive if taken care of well and planted immediately. Put it on Craigslist for free if they'll dig it up. If not, you can cut it easily with a brush axe, but like others have said remove all the debris and especially the fruit if it has them when you cut it down.

If you find someone to buy a sago palm from you, send them my way. I’m sure I can find some shite laying around the house to sell to that sucker.

As long as it would take to dig up, I would offer it to someone to come dig it up and take it if I would only get $40.

Just read the title.
The answer is diesel and fire.

If it weren’t so close to my wooden fence, diesel wouldn’t even be in the equation. Gas.
