Kendall McCallum is criminally underated

How much time did he miss this year with the heart issue, I would bet it was substantial and prevented moving up in ranking. Just a guess though

Reminds me of a 2 time all American linebacker back in the 70’s. Warren Capone didn’t have great speed but had remarkable instincts for finding the ball carrier. This kid is a baller and a take

Another Taylor with better character hopefully. They play very similar though. Both have huge upside. I think McCallum is actually quicker with just as much power so maybe a slight upgrade.

Aranda knows talent when he sees it. Probably isn't getting the best coaching either. RS him get him in peak physical shape then let him loose his RS freshman and Sophomore years. We have some great depth at LB and if some of those rush guys develop then we'll be fine there. I honestly believe we need one more thicker type of rusher. A more balanced against the run and can rush also. Strickland would be a good one there or some of those MS guys.

We still need some DLman. Orgeron needs to get Aranda out there all over the country with himself and their DL coach and go flip some talent or at the very least set themselves up for the future. 2020 and 21. If we don't land a few more studs then we will need some numbers next year and not just the LA guys but some other top notch talent across the country. Get 6 or 7 of them. RS half of them and play the best. Or get some JUCO/Transfers but some can't miss guys.

We will need some guys to back up our seniors and juniors after next year. Those big time freshman can then RS or take their time playing when they actually ready instead of having to play them for depth. The year after that we'll have seniors, juniors, sophomore and freshman all being quality players.

You recruit now for the future not for next year. That's why it's so important not to miss years, especially at these 4 positions. QB/OL/DL/LB and we are recruiting well at 3/4 of those at this time. LSU typically has elite talent at the DB/WR/RB positions 90% of the time. Of course those positions are important but the others are where your programs foundation is built and takes time to develop quality depth over a 4 year period. Ask any coach and he'll tell you that's the ideal situation, to have quality young men in every class at these positions all competing with a chance that the younger guy is better, not having to start him because you have no other options.

You can get away with starting a 1st year and 2nd year DB or WR or RB. Very good chance you can't get away with doing that at QB, on the DL, on the OL and at most LBer positions. You can get away with having one maybe two uber talented guys starting IF you have seniors and juniors behind him but he's playing better and you can't take him off the field. When LSU gets to that point in time, we will be in the playoffs regularly. Until then, it'll be a crap-shoot at best.

He doesn’t have much downfield speed, so I can see the ratings being where they are. He does have good vision and instincts, and his last 2 steps before he wraps up are elite, cause he gets low and square. Definitely a run stuffing MLB, but probably suspect on coverage with SEC speed.

The kid is an absolute animal. He will be a force in the middle of our defense. Kind of reminds me of a bigger Derry Beckwith.

because he's stiff and not very quick. But once he gets going, he seems to have decent speed.

McCallum has a 4.7 40 and 37 inch vertical listed on HUDL. That's plenty fast for a LB.
