Lol no.

Lake Travis isn’t getting by north shore.

Westlake has a shot. But Longview is waiting there also. Westlake is really good this year though, that’s why they beat the brakes off Lake Travis.

I’m just ready to see anybody but Allen win.

You can tell me Coach Samples recruits, but it still doesn’t rub me as wrong Allen and the refusal to build another HS.

That division 1 and division 2 stuff is worse than the public/private split in LA.

What’s the delineation in Texas between D1 and D2?

All of Louisiana should be jealous of this thread. Only one or two of the 57 state championship games were even competitive, and y'all are over here talking about great semi final match ups.

It's asinine.

In Conference 6A, the top four teams from each district are eligible for the playoffs. The two eligible teams with the highest student enrollment for its district are seeded in the Division I playoff bracket, and the remaining two teams (with the lower enrollment) are seeded in the Division II playoff bracket.

The first few years they did it, the division II winner had a higher enrollment than the division I winner.

There were some solid semi final matchups in LA too.

they still have to go out and win the games though. just bc you have 6,000 kids doesn't mean you have talent

Allen doesn't have 6,000 kids by accident. Many move there specifically because they are talented or talented enough to contribute across all their sports & their band/cheer/dance/etc. They put a lot of money into their activities.

Even if the school isn't close to 50/50 boy/girl. That's still over 2,000 boys to field a football program. With 2,000 dudes, you've got well over 125 that suit up for football & get you wins with marginal coaching.

Hell, there's so many kids at DFW high schools that there are multiple varsity, jv, & freshmen sports teams that compete at quality levels & end up playing in college.

There's a school in Frisco that divides it's varsity volleyball teams to the point of the A team is all kids going D1 & the b team is kids going D2 or D3.

To give you a look into TX HS athletics numbers, here's a stat I learned this year:
Since about 2008, the state of Texas graduates more student-athletes every year than the state of Louisiana graduates students every year.

So...yeah...they've got talent tripping over talent in the hallways.

I don't think they'd divide varsity teams... You only have one per school

Now I can see them dividing JV and freshmen teams

Chad Morris when he was at Lake Travis is responsible for the offense that most of the state (and country) run right now.

Could have sworn that most of Texas was an air raid offensive syste. Chad, while loving to throw it around the yard too is from the same offensive tree Gus is. A spread wing T is how they describe themselves. Someone else more informed please feel free to correct me

Allen Duncanville and Northshore are all above everyone else this year in TX

Hard to separate the 3.

Duncanville Allen is going to be a dogfight and you could flip a coin. I’ll be there. Triple header at Jerryworld Saturday

I read where there are 15 D1 recruits between the two schools

I’m going to go with Duncanville In a close one. Allen lost two starting OL last week and their best DL two weeks ago

Duncanville is legit and probably has more high end D1 talent than Allen. Should be a good one. Not sure why folks on here are saying Allen rolls

Because this board is pretty dumb when it comes to sports, ironic ain’t it? Lol

Technically, you're correct.

There's the varsity/jv/frosh level team for the school, made up of the D1 prospects.

The additional "varsity"/JV/frosh team(s) are in the club category. But the use the school name, colors, mascots, coaches, facilities, etc.
The "club" varsity teams would win district/state in most of LA, OK, & AR against traditional varsity programs.

I liked it how it was before when when classes where just A, AA, etc....and the Div 1 and Div 2 competitors were decided at the end of the season based on who qualified for playoffs on enrollment.

It made travel much less of a hassle as well. Since they divided it up from the beginning now with districts there are some schools (smaller ones) who have to travel all over the fricking place.
