I won a permit lottery and went on to propose to my wife atop of half dome. Yosemite is GOAT, can not wait to revisit.

Times Square at night - growing up in the south, the busyness and size of NYC is mind blowing
Tons of places in Europe - so much history that we simply don't have here. Roman baths, aqueducts, and gladiator arenas from the 3rd century a.d.

Grand Canyon, Great Wall of China (went to a less touristy section about 2 hours outside of Beijing), Budapest Parliment, Edinburgh as viewed from Arthur's Seat, most of Paris, all of Amsterdam, and the Old Square and Palace in Prague.
Marrakech also left me in awe, but that was more because three year olds were trying to sell me cigarettes and an old man took food scraps off my wife's plate at a restaurant before being run off and beaten by the stall operator. The casbah in Rabat was impressive though.
Was underwhelmed with Nyhavn in Copenhagen.

The Colosseum in Rome
Pont du Gard
Pompeii
Top of the Duomo in Florence
Personally I think that of all the big cities in Europe, Rome has an easy 1st place when it comes to monuments that just blow you away. The Colosseum, the Pantheon, the Trevi fountain all are just incredible in terms of scale and, I guess, majesty? I’m not a writer so I have a hard time putting it into words, but when I stood there in front of those things, I was just dumbstruck. You could add another half dozen things from Rome that are another tier down from those three but still really amazing.
Now the city itself is dirty and busy and not half as nice as some others, but for monuments Rome is where it’s at.

First and every time I saw the sun ruse through the smoke of Sakurajima in Kagoshima, Japan.
The view off the back side of Snowbird Cloud 9 lift.
Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, 700' cliff overlooks(700' staring straight down over a rail) on Little Colorado River leading to Grand Canyon

Independence Hall in Philadelphia...you can sit in the very seats where the founders of our country sat and declared our independence.
I went with my kids on an anniversary. To see so many foreign visitors lined up just to appreciate that moment in history gave me chills.

But if we’re going for natural and totally worth it - Carlsbad Caverns.
When I was a kid back in the 60's our family took a trip to Carlsbad. It was really nice, definitely the most scenic natural wonder I've seen.
Especially when you compare it to the caves at Ruby Falls.
Never been to the Grand Canyon or any of the western National Parks.
I really wasn't all that impressed with the NYC or Chicago skylines, but the first time I went to DC, I was blown away by the monuments.

I have been across Asia and Europe but some things here really awed me like Twin Falls, Grand Canyon, Mt. Rainier, Empire State Building and the World Trade Center.
