People keep saying this but can't point out a single instance of someone getting injured and not going to the NFL

Was he projected to be a high first round pick?

Some players are great college players but don't project well into the NFL

Definitely not

Getting drafted in the first round and having a 10 year career at RB (a position with a short shelf life) is definitely a horrible example

He can always go back to school when his NFL career is over.

College life is not the same when you're in your thirties bozo!

Had he gone after his Jr. year, he would have been a high pick. Was listed top 5 OTs after his Jr. year on most predraft lists. Thankfully, he was insured for injury his Sr. year.

So that's one example

But it's a very rare exception

Kids get injured every game in college and it effects their draft position. Some make it up and some don’t.

Look at the Miami RB, the South Carolina RB, Notre Dame LB a couple of Georgia RBs, injuries happen all the time. Some people get burned and some don’t.

Why take the chance if you are a upper first round, if not top 10 player.

We lost a underclassmen LB on a freakish Play this year to an ACL tear. Imagine if that happened to DW next year.

The fact that you can only name a handful of guys pretty much proves the risk isn't that much

And other than Lattimore most of those guys were high draft picks

zero percent chance. If you really cared about him, you'd beg him to go. Life changing money for him and his family (and that's with only the signing bonus). Can't risk all of that with another year in college.

I agree with the thought, but honestly how many college players can you name that had career ending injuries their senior year? Even Jaylon Smith who had a horrible injury was picked #34 overall with no guarantee he could play again.

Every player has different reasons to stay or go. Maybe White loves the college experience and his team mates. Maybe he wants a shot at a title. Once you declare you never get it back. I perfectly understand the "business decision" of declaring, but there are some things you just can't buy. (unless you are Bama of course)

If anyone potentially passes on the fame and money then it would be DW40.

I don’t expect him to come back but that is a pretty transparent post from him.

That and the shocking amount of people who think "lose" is spelled "loose" makes me think the educational system is failing.
