The O line is simply not good

You can blame whomever you want but the blocking last night against Rice was atrocious.
Stepping with the wrong foot
Over extending off your base on pass blocks and getting side stepped.
Missed assignment on run blocks
Dbl teaming into the hole instead of sealing and sliding to LB
Simply overpowered 1:1
Not whipping shoulder and hip rotation when getting outside
Driving offside d line across the center into the play hole
Not maintaining inside out protection on quick passes
Not even offering to pick your QB up of the ground as you are standing over him after you just gave a "LOOK OUT!!!" block.
The poor offensive production against strong SEC defenses was/is to be expected with this level of O line play. Honestly it is amazing we have the record we do.
ALL plays will be grossly ineffective when the O line cannot consistenly create a hole, reach the LB on run plays, prevent a bull rush up the middle, or stop the speed rush from the outside.

Joe had time to throw last night. I thought they played pretty good.

what game did you watch?

Cregg hasn’t been the homerun hire I thought he’d be. Hopefully he can get these guys to another level next year.

Imagine how many games LSU would have won with a good oline

Florida would’ve been a W

We're not getting a push. I'm not sure how much Is technique and how much is strength.

Some people just want to watch the team burn.

Did OP re-watch the Bama game last night?

Downvote for implying blame on someone other than the coaches.
Whether its scheme, technique, strength and conditioning or fundamentals, all are the fault of the coaches. The position coaches for not coaching these guys up and the coordinator for not recognizing this and adjusting his scheme to compensate.
I don't want to hear that it's the players because...
1. You would have to assume that it's every player on the offense because they're all failing. What are the chances of that? You're telling me that every player is failing to hit the gym, execute or understand the offense? Every player in every position group on offense? Not a chance.
2. You would have to assume that LSU has no talent on the offensive side of the ball. And by no talent I mean less talent than 102 other college football programs in the country. Also, not a chance. This is a really easy one to debunk. Just go look at the recruiting rankings the past few years. I'll give you a hint, LSU averages the #8 recruiting class in the country.
This lack of execution excuse and blaming the players is the same shite that got Less Smiles shitcanned. I have a feeling it's going to be the same thing that gets Captain Orgeron shitcanned. These are the kind of excuses people make when they're out of answers and have no idea how to fix the problem.
To the rest of us, the answer is obvious. Stop hiring your friends and people you're comfortable with and start hiring people that are competent at their jobs.

That was the best the oline has blocked all year...against rice but still it wasn’t atrocious last night. For the year I agree.

Maybe he didn't and I apologize if that was the case. I don't really keep up with who post what so I don't know where people stand when I see their username. Maybe it was a poor assumption on my part but that's what I got out of it. The way things have been going lately anytime I see someone on here post something criticizing the players I automatically assume, rightly or wrongly, that they're trying to deflect blame away from the coaches.

Which seems extremely important to some of you...
He didn't place blame at all. He posted facts.

I agree. I only usually watch them on replays and I remember a lot of over reaching on pass plays but Rice just doesn't have the athletes that will make the play on the QB. Cushinberry is a liability up the middle.

This is the number one problem of our offense. Yes they are young and have been often injured. But they should be greatly improved at the end of the season but have only modestly improved.
Yes, the running backs are not as great as our last two, but better and more consistent holes would vastly improve our running attack.
Yes our QB takes a little too long in the pocket than he should, but poor perimeter blocking and blitz blocking impairs the passing game.
Yes our receivers take to long to get open and drop the ball too much, but less of a pass rush would improve accuracy, give the patterns more time to develop, and decrease the drop percentage.
So why are we 9-2? Very good defensive play combined with an unpredictable but clunky offense. People love to rag on the OC, but diversified play calling has been the saving grace of the offense. Would better running backs help? Yes. Would faster more sure handed receivers help? Yes. Would improved QB accuracy help? Yes. But better O-line play would improve all of the above.
The O-line is not terrible. But it’s not very good either.

Damn, coach! Where have you been all season? Fix it!

Just look at his binder avatar. He is an O hater. Anything less than 100% of the bad being O’s fault is unacceptable, but he balances that with 0% of the good being assigned to O!
I’m not an O pumper, but I am content with the current recruiting, the unpredictable and more balanced offense, the 9-2 record, and the top ten ranking. Now give me 10-2, a bowl win, and a top 5 finish and my contentment will turn to happiness, but not bliss that only occurs with a Naty.

I apologize and you assholes downvote me.
You want facts? Here's some facts:
LSU averages a top-10 recruiting class.
LSU averages an 80th ranked offense. This year, prior to the rice game, they were 103 or thereabout.
But yeah. It's a player issue.
MUH facts! RREEEEE!
