No question.

Trump's willingness to address base invectives and baseless innuendos with ignoble responses sets him apart from his predecessors, at least since Truman. But the key there is in the term "responses".

Trump is and has been the target of the most vicious press attacks since Adams ran against Jefferson. Unlike that example though, perverse attacks on Trump have continued unabated past the campaign. It is unprecedented.

He's been targeted by an attempted political coup. So yes, his responses are ugly. They are untraditional. They occasionally border on uncouth. But they are responses, and they are responses in kind.

They are responses to a press so hideous that it engages not just Trump with grotesque, disgusting derisions, but also his wife, his preadolescent son, and the rest of his family.

It is very telling that within such an environment, you'd chose to single out Trump as a "clown".

So, it's exactly like hate speech laws in Canada and Europe and hate speech codes on US college campuses?

Interesting... I wonder if theres a take away here...

Do the rules say anything about the behavior of the president? He really showed his arse tbh.

Acosta: "Thank you Mr. President. I wanted to challenge you on one of the statements you made in the tail end of the campaign, uh, in the midterms th-"(Trump interupting: "Here we go.")

Acosta: "Well, (Trump: "Come on. Come on. *whistles* Let's go.)..if you don't mind Mr. President..you said that this caravan was an invasion. As you kn- (Trump: "I consider it to be an invasion.")

Acosta: "As you know, Mr. President, that this caravan was not an invasion. It's a group of migrants moving up from Central America to the U.S (interupted by Trump: "Thank you for telling me that, I appreciate it.")

Acosta: "Why did you characterize it as such?"

Trump: "Because I consider it an invasion. You and I have a difference of opinion."

Acosta: "But do you think you demonized immigrants in this election to try.. "

Trump: "No, not at all. I want them to come into this country, but they have to come in legally. You know, Jim, they have to come in through a process. I want it to be a process and I want people to come in, and we need the people. (Acosta interupting: "Your campaign".. Trump talking over him: "Wait. Wait.")

Trump: "You know why we need the people, don't you? Because we have hundreds of companies moving in. We need the people."

Acosta: "But your campaign had an ad showing migrants climbing over walls and so on.. they (the caravan) arent going to do that"

Trump: "Well that's true. They weren't actors. They weren't actors. Did you think they were actors? They didn't come from Hollywood..

Acosta: "They (the caravan) are hundreds and hundreds of miles away, though. That's not an invasi- (Trump interupting)

Trump: "Honestly, I think you should let me run the country. You run CNN. And if you did it well your ratings would be much better."

Acosta: "Alright.. if I may ask anoth-" (Trump: "Alright, that's enough")

Reverend Mike Huckabee is who you are looking for if you want decorum. Something tells me you didn't vote for him in the primary.

I want to challenge you....

That's not journalism. Then he gave his opinion...as you know it's not an invasion. That's an opinion.

Journalism is dead.

Just look at CNN s own mission statement. It's full of outright lies.

Acosther is good for clicks I guess.

Okay I haven’t really been following this. Watched it live though...

What exactly was “doctored”? Can someone link a side by side of the original and the “doctored” video?

You've got your head screwed on backwards as usual.

President Trump's opposition couldn't engage in a conversation with him without insulting him first.

Like you, they called him a clown and worse from the instant Trump announced he was running for the presidency.

It's almost like President Trump played Acosta so he could use Acosta as an excuse to create new rules of decorum that all of the presstitutes in the FNM would have to follow in future PCs.

The president was combative from the beginning of his question

I mean being respectful and polite aren't requirements.. but if I acted like Trump did my mother would be embarassed

Just like most of the country is embarassed by how he treats people.
