In his contract he is supposed to pursue comparable jobs. So it could also be Kansas offered him he really doesn’t want to coach and this was about to play out in court.

Kansas ain’t LSU.

Exactly. All he has to do is win a couple of B12 games and not lose to Nichols, and he is a hero there. Very doable.

Wrong
Kansas is one of the worst Power5 jobs in the nation, with zero recruiting base there.

Very hard to win there, even for a great coach.

He will actually have to win games based on his ability to outcoach other people while using inferior talent.

He did it in Stillwater.

Miles would be making a GIGANTIC mistake to take the Kansas job, I wouldnt want to see him go out that way in 3-4 years.

If for example, Kansas wants to pay him 1.5 million for 4 years for a total of 6 million, their contract would have reduced the amount LSU owed by an equal amount. This way, he gets the 1.5 from LSU plus whattever he can get from Kansas.

Alleva the negotiator strikes again.

Wait wait wait. Joe Alleva negotiated a deal for LSU that was beneficial to us? WTF

If Kansas hires Les Miles, then this was a horrible deal for LSU as he just wasted another $1.5 million

This is perfect...once Kliff kingsbury is fired at the End of the season in Lubbock we can bring him to BR for 2.5 guaranteed and win a natty

1. I love Les Miles. What a great man to put aside the fact that he was fired from the school he loves to take less of a buyout. He truly loves LSU, and I am grateful for his time here.

2. Could we possibly be freeing up some money to make a big time splash hire of a new Offensive Coordinator?

Exactly. Mangino wasn't a great coach, and he had success there.

If that’s the standard, then sure. I could see him going 4-8, maybe even 5-7 in his best years.

You think he realizes how many fans that just wanted him to do this?

He was well liked and good face for LSU.

I wish him the best-

not so sure....he can probably get them set up to succeed if given time....

in Kansas a bowl game is a success anything more is gravy...way less spotlight in Lawrence than in BR.
