It’s quite simple. Our Offensive Line isn’t good.

And we don’t have a RB that can break off runs like Guice and Fournette. Those two spoiled us for 4 years. It’s almost impossible to haves consistent offense when Burrow has about 2 seconds to throw the ball. The flip side to that is max protecting which only gives us 2 receiving threats.

So our OLine has issues run blocking and pass blocking. This isn’t a burrow issue or Ensminger issue. We just need to recruit better o line men.

It’s not just not good. It’s downright bad.

How long have you been employed by LSU Athletics to post on message boards to boost morale in the program and defend O?

All you nega tigers are so reactionary. Say something that counters my opinion then? Or do you not know enough about football to have a discussion?

I've been saying this but the hate the coaches crowd doesn't want to hear it because that may take some of the heat off of the coaches and that isn't going to happen if they can help it so they'll ignore the personnel problems and continue to trash the coaches and any other posters that don't follow the herd. It's comical at this point.

Maybe so but a good OC will use his offensive strengths and creativity to get max. production from his players. If offensive line is not good then do something different like a screen pass or draw to slow down the rush IMHO. It's a tough thing to watch at times. Sad.....

Apparently you didn't see the screen passes last night.

I agree with the OL issues, but we need to stop with the deep drops and slow developing plays. Better to go spread with a 3 step drop or gun and get the ball out quickly. If Burrow is as good as advertised he should be able to go through quick progressions with a spread or at least identify his mismatch and exploit it quickly.

I said in a previous post that it was putrid. Our offensive line play is unacceptable. LSU should be recruiting better than this.

Listen.

The offensive line hasnt been good, especially at pass blocking, since Collins and Turner left.

Y'all didnt give miles a pass for that and shouldn't give O a pass for it.

I think that they are now. They just went through a time that it wasn't a priority I guess.

Very very simple. Our O line is a fricking joke. They are alright at run blocking but when it comes to blocking for pass plays it’s like they just fall down.

I agree that that's part of the problem.

All the more reason why we need someone who can try and scheme around the lack of talent. What we are doing is not only not working, it's failing miserably.

Is the offensive line coach the best in the country? I believe he's been doing a good job with what he has to work with. Although I don't understand the rotation and why certain guys are playing.

But who was the recruiting coordinator?

We heard during the offseason the line was strength of the offense. I hope the recruiting class can gives us some starters.

Are you really that slow? Can you not understand that we get it's personnel, but it's ALSO our coaching. It doesn't have to be one or the other.

If it's purely personnel then explain to me how Ensminger put 0 points up against Bama in 16. Why, when E had both Guice and Fournette, did he do a worse job, statistically, than Canada or Cameron?

If you think personnel is the only problem then the jokes on you.

Its a very young OL. At the end of the game last night you had:
C - Cush - SO
G - Hines - FR
G - Lewis - JUCO/JR 1st yr in SEC
OT - Charles - SO
OT -Deculus - SO

Early departures, suspensions, transfers, etc. has hampered this group. Injuries early on were a problem. it is what it is. Coach it, make it stronger and better.

Ummm so what was the issue in 2016 when he had all those things and still put up zero against Bama?

Would Kendall Briles have better offensive numbers with this same exact team?

We have our best guard playing left tackle and another guard playing, who’s totally incompetent at rt tackle. One te to try and help both tackles.

It’s like taking a 5 Star point guard and playing him at center. Great athlete. Just not a very good center.

If we had two competent tackles, things would be much different. It’s beyond me how people can’t see this. The national offensive coach of the year is now at ms state. His offense struggles due to qb. Bobby petrino just got fired. Two years ago he had one of the most explosive offenses in the land. Lane kiffin was an offensive genius last year. What changed with these guys? Talent.
