Too bad people from California don’t see it that way.
They don't. They have no clue that it was their voting that ruined the great state of California, and well on their way to screwing up Colorado.

So they are less inclined to favor Texas Republican brand of bringing God into politics
You generalize and stereotype way too much. How do you know the Cali residents are atheists?
Also, what policies bring God into politics? And I find trans bathroom social justice policies to be every bit as pigheaded and short sided.
Maybe talk to younger Texans, they arent traditional religious people like you'd think.

He's right, it's transplant city out here. Chicago, Cali, Detroit, name a shet hole and they're coming here.

Actually I used stats from Pew Research. I didn't generalize. Look it up for yourself.
I didn't say all Californians were atheistic. I said that the % of Cali resident who were atheistic or had no religious leanings was almost as large as the % of Texans who are Evangelicals. The Texas evangelical vote will eventually decrease. People, in general, are less religious and I think this is a good thing. Religion is, unfortunately, one of the last institutions to modernize even though it full of contradictions and irrational statements. A person's belief system is imperfect and it needs updating just like our computers do. To not update is like having a computer with a Windows 1.0 operating system. Sooner or later it gets cluttered because it can't handle new and more complex information. Religion is like that because holy books were written thousands of years ago by mostly ignorant people who thought they knew what God was thinking.

That said, I’m almost embarrassed to admit my district voted 75% Beto.
I'm guessing that would be Travis County? If so, I don't know what you expected being in the center of Austin. I voted for Beto and Abbott myself. I like what Abbott has done but couldn't stomach voting for Cruz.
I'm personally scratching my head over the fact they overwhelmingly voted for the affordable housing proposition. I thought people would be logical enough to realize that the price of housing/rent here is already through the roof and that increasing the price of everyone's property taxes by passing every bond is not going to change that. Landlords will take even more advantage of property tax increases to charge renters more than the an average homeowner would see. Let's not even mention the less than stellar success rate of affordable housing across the country.
They should be focusing on zoning and height regulations instead. Unfortunately, there are too many HOA presidents that have stumbled into political careers who aren't capable of fixing these problems. The recent soccer stadium issue is another example. They choose to protect fields that people use for 2 or 3 months a year at all costs to prevent the building of a major sporting/event stadium in the middle of downtown.

Texags thread about transplant voting behaviors
I know there's a mix of CA transplants moving into TX, but based on this thread, this is somewhat expected and not the crisis our gov might be worried about.

Should have billboards all over the state with message along with year round TV ads

You would vote for an avowed socialist and person who wants completely open borders over Ted Cruz? All because Cruz isn’t “likable”?
Get fricked bitch.

Reality is it isn’t our southern border fricking things up as much as our western border.

NC has the New Yorkers that couldn't live with the taxes any more. I see them and want to say yankee go home. Seriously though, they bring their politics here after escaping them.

That's a pretty stupid point of view when you consider the fact that Californians are rich enough to move here and buy up all of our property away from us. Guess they did something right
Your understanding of basic economics is breathtaking.

This is what happens when cancer metastasizes.
Just remember, this isn’t Texas cancer, it is still California cancer and needs to be treated accordingly.

One of my best friends is from California. He bought a shatty little house in Orange County in 1970 for a little of nothing which is now worth about $700K. Then his mother passed away about 10 years ago and left him her house just north of San Diego again another house which was worth 600K. That is how your average Californian gets rich. It was more about luck and living in the right area then "doing something right".

Looking at this as a glass-half-full guy, this may be a good thing for Louisiana.
If we get rid of Honor Code and elect a governor that is pro-business, and Texas turns blue, perhaps some of entrepreneurs and businesses that have left through the years will come back.
