Would you be charged with murder if you shot through the door and killed a protester?

I would guess they have to be inside the house and a threat.

I’m as freaking conservative as the come...but come on man.

If they were trying to get in, you’d be justified AF

Murder unless you had an objectively reasonable belief that they were coming in to hurt you.

In Louisiana you can kill them. You don’t even have to drag them in your house. If you feel threatened, if they break in you are within your rights to kill them. Tucker needs to move.

If you were in the political field? No cause you know this is a leftist stunt. As a private citizen. Gunned down.

In Louisiana, if they kicked your door in and came in you'd be good. They should be shot btw.

Yeah...but a sack of taters and a spud gun would get their attention.

Uh, yea...
Unless they're beating on your door yelling "We're gonna kill you." Or you saw a weapon on them while beating on your door you will be charged with murder.
If they kick the door in, though, all bets are off.

"I was fearful for my family's safety, officer. I felt threatened and it appeared to me one of them was reaching for something. My trigger malfunctioned is the reason he was shot 63 times."

You can use deadly force to protect life, not property.
Some jurisdictions require retreat, the requirements of which vary by jurisdiction.
In short, if someone is breaking your door down then yes, you can use deadly force in some jurisdictions but not all. Seriously, your question is one that criminal law professors like to put on exams.

If you could shoot under those conditions, anti abortion protesters would have been gunned down decades ago.

Claim imminent harm requiring/resulting in the use of lethal action/force

You have to get them to verbally commit to harming you, then unlock the door and state loudly that they are not allowed in and you are scared.
If your state has stand your ground and domicile protection laws and you do the above, you should be clear to shoot anyone who opens the door.

Depends on the state. Her in Alabama, we have the Castle Doctrine.
Under the Tucker Carlson situation, someone was beating his door to the point, it cracked. According to the Castle Doctrine, I can drop that SOB where he stands, as I have a legitimate fear for my life.

You would be charged with something in Missouri. You can only shoot if a "reasonable person" would consider you to be under imminent threat of death or gross bodily harm.
