Do you think we will hire a new O coordinator in the offseason?

Seriously, do you think it is a possibility. No matter how we finish out offensively, we will end up at or near the bottom of most offensive categories.

I just don’t think O will be able to ignore the stats, which include two 0s by Steve E. against Bama.

Thoughts?

Yes, I believe Ensminger will choose to step aside, and of course we will then have to hire a big time O.C.

Not even a 0.0000000001% chance unless Emzinger decides to step down.

Remember when we all thought Miles would replace Cameron? How did that end up working out?

Ensminger has been extra grumpy since he took the promotion. I think he is unhappy doing it, therefore it is possible he relinquishes it.

I think he has to.

yes, there's the offensive performance in the two losses.

But it's more than that...
- bottom of the conference all year, every week, in most offensive statistics
- the inconsistency. good one week and bad one week doesn't win conferences.
- inconsistency makes it impossible to game plan
- the lulls in every game; it's a trend we haven't broken really
- are we seeing marked improvement as the year progresses? no (admittedly, hard to tell)

If taken point by point with the things we knew coming in (OL, new WRs, new QB, new system, etc.) can explain away.

Taken together, it's a little much.

O kinda painted himself into a corner w.r.t.the OC.

In one respect he did E a favor but hiring him as OC. I expect E to reciprocate and 'voluntarily' step-down at season's end.

So my answer is, 'yes.'

He thinks it's the players fault for not executing.

Nope. O told you all you needed to know this past week when he said he thinks SE is doing a great job. Only way we change Offensive coordinator is if SE steps down.

No chance. After he ran off Canada, O's ship is anchored to Ensminger for better or worse. The rationale will be taking a young offense and 1st year starting QB into their 2nd year under Coach E's offense.

LSU has most of the pieces to run the Patriots passing game. Quick, fast, short passes. E could have run it, but didn't.

Coach E has forced slow developing passes without the horses at WR & OL to succeed with it.

It will depend on how much pressure the big-boy boosters put on O and his bosses. IMO, E is out.
