The fact that so many people vote for anti-American candidates is frightening

I’m a millennial, unfortunately, and it pains me to no end that the overwhelming majority of my age group will willfully give up any and all autonomy they have as individuals in this country to the government.
Not only do they willfully give it up, but they cheer it on.
Why in the world would you vote for a Democrat especially if you compare Obama’s 8 years of pure shite and compare them with the two short years of Trump so far? It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever in my 24 year old mind. I cherish liberty, I cherish Americanism. I don’t want to see this country go the way of Europe.
I love pretty much everything Trump has done so far, but he won’t be in office forever. And as more and more conservatives get older and start dying off, my generation will start running for office. And God help this country when they start winning because it’s going to be bad.
What’s that Star Wars quote? So this is how liberty dies...with thunderous applause.

The problem is the duration of overall peace we have endured. When people aren't worried about life and safety, they get overly concerned about emotions rather than individual freedom.
A lot of people my age or younger (31) have no idea what its like to be involved in a major war, or have any idea how lucky we are to be free. So, they ignorantly trade that in for someone telling them they can make their life just a little bit easier.

This is more worrying than anything in my mind. I'm shocked there are so many stupid people. Russia has commented for years how we talked them out of communism and we going in head first now. They are laughing at us. How could all these idiots not understand history and all the past failures of communism. They can't see Venezuela? Or the other commi-lite countries in Central and South America?? This is troublesome to me.

Why does this surprise you? When you don't own property, don't pay taxes, etc...why should you give two shits about anything but getting as much from the government as you can?
