Bring him to walkons on campus, it will be a memorable experience for him to see the atmosphere. Tell him to remember how much stuff is going on 24 hours before the game starts. The next game you guys go to, point it out again. Make sure he knows how big of a game this is. He will be hooked on college football from this point on.

No, I believe that would qualify as abuse of the mentally infirm if we're going by your list.

You just a snotty lil bitch. Those establishments make damned fine casual food from scratch.
You can dine on ma balls.

Honestly, if they're wanting burgers, I would steer them more to Fat Cow. Right off campus. Great burgers. Good shakes. That said, your list is solid.
Our Mom's Burgers are way gooder than Fat Cow.
Get them debris fries for yourself.

My 8 yr old son loves Curbside on Governent and Zippys on Perkins at the overpass. Both have lively atmospheres and good food.

For sure. Zips has the sidewalk chalk too. And there'll definitely be other kids there he can socialize with while drawing shite on the ground. My kids are older now and I forgot about that perk. Definitely a good call.

Is the Plantation Room (?) still open on the 3rd floor?
The Magnolia Room. That buffet was my jam on Friday afternoons back in the day. Fried catfish, sweet tea and the soft serve machine.
I think they moved and re-named it since I last went, but it's somewhere in the Union still.

Campus or Bluebonnet?

Walkon's seems like great advice. Get your young man a memorable experience... trips to the Chimes... walk campus... see Mike...
Geaux Tigers.
Geaux Tigers.

We started going as an alternative to Chimes and Sammy's when those places were really busy.
But then it became our preference.
Their portions/price/quality combo is hard to beat.

Take him to the Tiger cage so Mike can visit with him.
