Since schools started getting sued for putting kids on buses and having something stupid happen during weather, they've decided it isn't worth it and will just cancel it. They have hurricane days, might as well use them

Pretty damn severe weather forecasted for Central Mississippi tonight. Hope it doesn’t materialize, but it is 77 and feels like a sauna right now....supposed to be 48 degrees when I wake up.

I thought I saw they were opening later..I can understand that, just from a safety standpoint, but closing is a little extreme.

They are calling for flooding, tornados, hail, heavy thunderstorms etc between 5-10 am where my kids go to school so I don’t see a problem with starting school at 11.
My issue is that I have a 8 am flight out of nola that I’m concerned about getting to the airport for 6 plus I’m worried that it may be delayed. That would just pretty much frick my whole day.
