No matter what happens Saturday, is there a better redemption story than Ed Orgeron?

He e has turned LSU around, defeated "dynasties", coaching prodigies, stolen recruits, etc.
And he's done it with everyone laughing in his face. Including his own team's fanbase.
to you Ed.

So if we lose Sat and go to 7-2, O has turned us around?
Good to know.

Well if you were writing the story of Coach O I'd say you're only about 3/4 the way through it. So to answer your question is it TBD. So far it has the makings of one.

Didn’t Les get fired partly because of an inability to beat Bama?

No he hasn’t but he has put us in a position to turn things around. We weren’t doing it with CLM so O is trying to.

TBD but it will be a glorious story if he can pull it off. I’m in his corner. I’m a Tiger.

regardless of the record, it's easy to see this is a well coached team. Even Sabin says, it is a process. If the staff continues to do the right things and the wins will come.

Slow down dude. You sound like you've gone full retard man.

The jury is still out on 0. He has to accomplish something i.e. SEC title before that changes.

I agree with that.

2-3 years there it seemed LSU would start out of the gate strong, lose to Bama, then tank the rest of the year by losing to a team like Arky.
Even with a loss to Bama, keeping the team focused is going to be key.
But we got a puncher’s chance this week.

I don’t think you’ll ever be able to sell the whole “regardless of the record” thing to any fan base.

Les got fired because he wouldn't change the offense and LSU kept losing games it shouldn't due to poor coaching.
Personally I'm not one of those fans who thinks Miles got fired because he couldn't beat Bama. Saban is arguably the greatest coach and he has the most talented roster.

Not quite... The story has to play out a bit more before it can be labeled a redemption tale. Too often I have seen 7-1 seasons become 9-3 or 8-4 seasons. If that is a redemption story, then we have to re-evaluate who we are as a program.

Look, we've lost 7 times in a row to Bama. You're not a competitive team in your conference or nationally if you always play for 2nd. Coach O or not if you want LSU to be out of the forest we need to beat Bama.

Well it wasn’t simply because we wanted an offense that was less predictable. We wanted to be “relevant” again and Miles was trending us away from that. Unfortunately if you happen to be in the SEC west, this means you have to be able to get past Bama. To that end, if O never shows himself to be a better option than Miles was, he won’t have proven that this whole circus was justified.
But, if he can...perhaps even if he just shows us next Saturday that it’s not out of the realm of possibility...that would be something.

Fair enough, but Les did get us to 2 NC games...won 1.
I would love to see O get us another NC title...that said, I’ll reserve judgement on the whole redemption “win or lose” theory.
No offense to OP.
