Oh, no doubt Les was great. Him and Saban were neck and neck for a while. Then Saban decided to change his offense. Les refused to do the same. The rest is history.

Some people are too blind to know what you are talking about

No but I wanted him replaced partly because of his inability to just try to beat Bama.

To everybody saying "wait and see", Mike Detillier was on a Bama sports show and told a story of talking with Ed about competing with Bama.

Ed said the only way you can compete with Bama is to have the lines. We don't have the lines yet. They are better than when he took over, but he told Mike it will be another year to have those lines.

That's not to say we can't do it this year.

if we some how beat bama this Saturday, we most likely will win the SEC and get in the playoffs. No doubt we would have to beat Bama once again in the championship game. If all that happens they could make a movie of this season and coach O. Sort of like Rocky of football coaches. A underdog who even his fans hated him because of his failure way earlier in his career and because he is a Cajun who "talks funny" but who overcame the odds, the media bias, overzealous SEC officials who favored the local Bama team, with a ragtag group of players, transfers, and what not, a OC also hated by the fanbase, and still won it all. It's a longshot, but what a movie it would make, if it were to happen

Saturday very much matters. He has done a great job this year. And hopefully we will finish strong and it will be one of the best stories this year. But we can't get blown out or anything like that because that would wipe out a lot of the great feelings. Also, I wouldn't say we've beaten a dynasty. Bama is a dynasty. UGA is a great team. But it was an awesome win.

The bigger the “redemption story”, the more irresponsible the decision to hire him.
The story is far from over.

Good Lord. Now the roster is chock full of "ragtag" players.

You make it sound like we're the bad news bears of college football.

He worded it wrong, but we do have players that were looking for a place to prove they belong and call home.

Like the Saints after Katrina. Those players came to New Orleans for the chance to prove themselves to the rest of the league.

I dont know- if they get stomped by Bama Saturday- the narrative is not as rosy as you paint it.

agreed. Beating Bama is huge. Losing to Bama especially in a blow out is also huge.

As some one who supported Miles until he was fired, I could not stand how cringe worthy his coaching was. It was cute at first because he seem to pull victories out, but then he stopped winning. All sorts of procedural penalties. Delay of game AFTER a time out. Too many men on the field, the quarterback continuously looking at the sideline for the call. And the “piece de resistance”-the second NC against Alabama! I don’t understand how the media can tell us everytime a Republican kissed a girl 30 years ago but can’t explain why our best quarterback sat on the bench THE WHOLE GAME! Now win or lose LSU is fun to watch since Orgeron’s first game. There are a lot of “never Orgeroners” out there but they can go jump out of the state capitol for all I care.
