MORGANZA TO THE GULF

Ran across this article and wanted to see what the OB thought. Looks like potential for added flood protection infrastructure in Terrabone parish and deepening of the Houma Nav.

The Army Corps would need to expand its re-use of dredged material for coastal restoration projects. The agency would also need to begin disclosing internal costs and expenses.
a lot more USACE BUDMAT projects have been delivered as of late. Look to Venice for a most recent example.

Terrebonne parish has been building scaled down versions of the Morganza levees as well as putting in flood gates for the last few years. That is the reason Terrebonne parish has one of the highest sales tax in the nation at 10.5% they didn’t feel we could wait for the feds so began working on it on our own.

This will be another boondoggle and environmental disaster like all the other corp projects...
