Like the EA pickup...

But, while a lot of the focus is on improving the secondary and they do need help, the help they need most is a D-line that can put more pressure the QB.

We have too many good QBs coming up on the schedule to think that any DBs are gonna have success if we can't make them uncomfortable.

Well, it doesn't help that all of our pass rushers employ the bull rush / swim move every fricking time.

I have never seen so many pass rushers get stood up at the same time. Would it kill any of our edge rushers to take a wider stance and try to beat someone to the edge?

In one of the "we must have PP to get to the super bowl threads" I said without a pass rush it doesn't matter who our corners are. I was told I apparently I haven't watched a Saints game because the pass rush is not the issue.

I agree I like the Apple pick up but we need more pressure.

i'm confused why there is no rush with Cam Jordan and Sheldon Rankins getting triple teamed every play.

Because the rest of our guys are losing 1 on 1s, or our corners are giving up quick throws because we play a lot of off coverage

I'm confused as to why year after year the Saints seem to have a allergic reaction to LB'ers with speed?

Does anyone else seem to think it’s scheme? We’re playing the run and only blitzing 3, 4 max, on passing downs. Would love to see what percentage of passing downs we’ve blitzed on the year, and how affective teams have been when we do blitz.

No great pass rushers on the block for sure, but see the Giants traded Damon Harrison to Lions for a 5th. He's a great run stuffing DT. I can't help but think adding a guys like that to the D-line would help free up the other guys.

Guessing you don’t know what term coverage sack means.... kind of hard to get pressure if the QB’s first look is always open..

And guess who the QB’s first look has been??? Whoever Crawley was covering...

You say it like there are great pass rushers just sitting on the trade block. If you know one that is available, please enlighten us all. People want PP because he is a top 5 corner in the league and we needed a 2nd corner. It's not like the fanbase is picking him over JJ Watt.

I agree with you that there aren't any great guys to go get who can rush the passer. I was hesitant to give up a lot for a corner (a very very good corner) even a top 5 corner will have problems if the QB has all day. In my opinion (which doesn't count for much) this team is a good pass rusher away from the SB not corner.

While I agree the pass rush could be better, the “28th in sacks” statistic is kind of skewed because the majority of teams haven’t had a bye yet. Most of the league has played an extra game.

It’s the same reason the offense is ranked in the middle of the pack right now. (19th in total yards)

This is it right here. Saints are rushing 3 or less defenders 25 percent of the time right now. We are also blitzing significantly less than we did last year and running a lot more zone than man which is also something we did a lot more last year. Over the last few games I am starting to think the issues that have risen up this year are more due to scheme than actual personnel since the personnel really has not changed much from last year.

I would put money on Taysom "The Machete" Hill being our best blitzing LB if he was put into that role.

Teo and Klein running directly into non-engaged OL allowing themselves to be easily occupied, stood up, or pancaked vs trying to find another gap has to be one of the saddest sights in professional football.

BOOM THIS IT IT.

Some analysts have questioned and even hinted at the Scheme Change Allen as implented.

What other Teams Defense do you ever hear of "We are trying to simplify the defense"

Or we are trying to find the best LBs and will continue to rotate them in or out until we find them.

What freaking Defense Coordinator doesnt know this before the season starts.
Why change what was working from last year.
They are saying they switched from a Man Based Scheme Last Year to a Deep Cover Zone Scheme this year.
Its gotta be Allen.
The saints are plague bitten from the Coursal of defensive coordinators they have had over the decade Sean Peyton has been here.
Davenport is one of the only lineman Consistantly getting pressure so why do you take him out of the game.

I dont think Wade Phillips would struggle to know who was the best fit for each position and what scheme change they excel in 6 games into the season.
