what do you use in place of a debit card? would a credit union credit card work to replace this convenience, or are you just a cash user?

A high reward credit card is my preference.

My daily limit for cash at an atm was $800/day. Went to get cash out last week, and it said I had reached my daily limit. I hadn't gotten any cash that day, so of course I checked my account. No money had been withdrawn. Called the credit union and was told that due to the recent data breach, they reduced all customers to $500/day. This was the first I had heard of this. They weren't protecting me. Pretty sure they were a lot more concerned about their liability.
