Holy frick, I cant believe Les Miles was on the sidelines. That team had suck a diverse offense. I saw I, shotgun, pistol, empty back fields, wildcat, screen passes (RB,TE,FB), TE faking in as a receiver, FB used as a reciever, play action, I think I saw a jet sweep, pitches, QB sneaks, QB runs, RPO... WTF happened? That 2007 offense looks like a modern spread offense, hell it looks much more modern than what LSU does now. What the hell happened to Les Miles? He won a natty with that type of offense, then became a run 75% of the time offense... I hadn't watched that game since I was 12 so I didn't remember it well... damn I wish I was older to have remembered that game. We abused Ohio State.

Didn't realize that had so much of an impact on miles... he lost all trust in his quarterbacks

2008 destroyed that man. 7 Pick 6's put him permanently in his shell.

And you know who the offensive coordinator was? Gary Crowton.

Ryan Perrillouxe not working out was the start. Even so, things were OK considering, until after 2011. Things just started to fade. Les got lazy and over conservative. Maybe he was starting to fade upstairs a little. Who knows.

He couldn’t recruit qbs. And it still doesn’t seem like we can. Where the f*** are all the qbs like joe? We need more cocky sumbitches like joe at qb after he’s gone.

its really as simple as this. Crowton thought he could trust a Rs Fr as much as he could trust Flynn...to say that didnt work out is an understatement.

Then 2010-2011 happened and Les realized he could win a LOT of football games by not taking many chances, and you know the rest of the story...

ETA 2009 was the most forgettable LSU season i can remember.

We didn’t have a competing QB like 7out of the next 8 seasons

Defense was Malvito screw up. Crowton had no choice but to throw the ball.

What you don’t remember about that year and others was a complete lack of discipline on offense leading to multiple penalties. In retrospect, however, I think it was a characteristic of Les Miles teams, but the OC got unfairly blamed for it.

Miles did not pick Jimbo or Crowton, the AD did. After the NC Miles had stroke. It was Miles offense the rest of his tenure.

2004, 2009, and 2017 were all equally mediocre and unremarkable in any way.

Saban bailed as the season ended, Miles rebounded with the best four year run in school history, and O appears to be on track for a great bounce back season as well.

TE faking in as a receiver,
That pass over the top to Dickson for the TD was . When's the last time they did that? Come to think of it, why is the offense tight-end-less now (at least when it comes to doing something other than blocking)?
