I was and then I watched a harvest. I declined after that.

He'll no. I want to be resurrected!
What will happen to all those folks who got pulverized in the collapse of the WTC towers?

Or explosions?

Or fires?

God needs all the pieces at-hand to put us back together for a resurrection?

If there's a literal physical resurrection, the supernatural power that can pull off that stupendous metaphysical trick can figure out how to get you some new organs.

Jesus was big on "Feed my sheep",

Greater love hath no man....

But whatever, if you want to be buried "intact", I hope you saved your tonsils & itty-bitty little foreskin too.

Yes, but I worry about these guys a bit:

Then, again, nobody gets out alive.

am, but have thought about changing it in todays world of corruption and the HUGE money to be made selling organs today, can you really trust strangers to decide when to harvest and sell your organs rather than putting money and effort into saving your life? you are literally creating a situation where there is a conflict of interest for those trying to save you. im thinking about having it done by relatives making that decision rather then instant authority to harvest my organs if they want to on my drivers license.

Exactly!

I haven’t posted in years, logged on to post this. I was on dialysis for the past 2.5 years. Luckily received a kidney this past June at UAB (was also on the list at Ochsner). I’m 43. Lost just about everything in my life due to kidney failure and had to move back home. Organ failure is a miserable way to live. It’s like having a phone that will only charge to 10% and you can only charge it once a day. Was lucky most days to get 2 hours of total sleep and barely had the energy to walk to my car. This morning I walked 5 miles nonstop. I have a job waiting for me next fall semester, and will likely be able to see my 10 year old daughter grow up. I don’t know who my donor was, but I was told it was a younger person. I’m grateful beyond measure to that person and their family. Whoever they were they likely saved at least 2 lives with their kidneys alone, and possibly more if other organs were donated. I have no issues with those who choose not to donate. But trust me, donating DOES make a difference. Not only for the recipient but also for those they love. I will happily donate whatever is acceptable when my time comes.

I am but I have some reservations.

I definitely heard a story where parents of a child who died donated his body and they thought his body was going to be used for science or organs or whatever and they ended up using the skin for some unclean purposes

was, but changed it. IMO, it's pretty dumb to think that everything that can be done to save your life will be done, when so many individuals and institutions stand to make bank if you die. You may consider it greed, but the truth is, anyone likely to have their organs harvested, is also likely to have loved ones they are leaving behind in a much more unstable financial situation than they were with the donor alive. Why should a donor literally leave part of themselves behind with no consideration for their own families, when the medical profession takes your generosity and profits from it, to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars?

There are always these uneducated morons in these threads.

Yes I’m an organ donor because I’m a decent person.
