No. An unseen force is not dictating your life. You control your life. You want something? - Then go get it.
Do you?
Or do a million different interactions/experiences, your environment in which you were raised, and/or your genetics control your life?
Why do you decide to do one thing as opposed to the other? What influenced you to make that decision? Did you do it all by yourself?

I thought "Fate" was going to be some hot Internet model with little clothing on. To my disappointment...

Very well said relative to my own thoughts on the matter.

I do.
A good friend of mine in undergrad met his beautiful wife on Bourbon Street actually. We went down to celebrate some friends graduating college for 1 night.
This girl and her friends from Texas were down there celebrating a birthday of one of the girls.
Realistically, they had very little chance of ever running into each other except for that 1 night.
When I think of fate, they're my go-to example

Up and down that lonely road of faith
I have been there
Unprepared for the storms and the tides that rise
I've realized one thing, how much I love you
And it hurts to see, see you cryin'
I believe we can make it through the winds of change

No. That would suggest that everything is destined to happen and one is just along for the ride.

You are just along for the ride. You just don't know what the twists and turns of the ride are, so you get the illusion of free will.
