First speeding ticket

I never got a speeding ticket before and I just got my first one. I was doing 86 in a 55. I was having uncontrolled bowls and I was trying to get home.
I know I have to go to court but does anyone know the amount I might have to pay ? Do I have to pay it by the court date or on the court date ?

Read the back of the ticket for instructions. You will be able to take defensive driving but there will still be some fees associated, of course. But you definitely need to go to court and tell your story in painstaking detail. Maybe you'll get lucky.

You know the little phone number of the bottom of the ticket for the respective parish’s DA’s office? Yeah call that, bc you have us 0 other information to go off of and even if you did it’s all speculation.
Call the DAs office tomorrow and I’ll bet you $100 they tell you how to proceed.

86/55, likely a mandatory court appearance and no payment allowed ore court date. Lucky you didn’t get hauled in or get reckless op added on. Fine and court costs will be several hundred dollars.

Plead not guilty and they will reduce to a seat buckle ticket. I did this several times in BR. They just want their money and don't want you tying up the court system so they will give you a non-moving violation and reduced ticket cost to get you out of there.
