Markakis was one of the least productive hitters in the game in the second half. He is fine if he is truly a depth option but my guess is we’ll be rolling him out there as the cleanup hitter.

Guy is a great clubhouse presence and all that but I’ll be honest I never wanted to see him in Atlanta again. Probably not rational but the guy is just so limited on the field.

I agree it's not exciting. There just isn't a ton out there. Tough to complain about option B when option A isn't really a great option either. Holding out hope they still swing a trade. Biggest difference between us and dodgers last year was they actually had a bench. Braves had scrubs.

Well documented he’ll be hitting 2nd.

$4mil tells me he was brought back for veteran leadership. 350-400 ABs. Won’t play every day. May hit up in the lineup vs RHP

I can only hope you’re right. Don’t think I can take 162 more games of Neck.

Anthopoulos said Snitker leading toward #Braves lineup with Inciarte, Donaldson, Freeman, Acuña cleanup and Markakis fifth. Not set in stone, but that's how leaning now.

My best guess is they will try Riley and Camargo in the outfield in spring training. I’m not the biggest fan of this offseason at all. If Donaldson isn’t a MVP caliber player this team isn’t much better than last year. We could’ve had big upgrades at C and RF if we didn’t give Donaldson that contract.

I'm with you. we regressed at catcher and RF assuming Nick plays at his second half pace. Pitchers need to take a leap forward and Donaldson HAS to be all star caliber.

We’re going to need Camargo and Riley to be able to play the corner OF. Not a fan at all of Ender hitting leadoff. Need Albies to get it together from the left side.

A lot of question marks on this team offensively beyond Freddie and Acuña.

I guess my question is what would you have done differently? We weren't signing Harper, so what do you view as the bigger upgrade? Easy to say don't like it, but have to provide a logical alternative.

Would you have given up the farm for JT? I wouldn't.

Brantley would have been my preference.

Haniger is really the perfect fit but hard to evaluate that without knowing the asking price.

Peralta/Pederson/Mazara are all very intriguing as well.

I'd be fine with giving up quite a bit for him.

Absolutely, I'd have given up a ton for Haniger. Perfect fit.

In the beginning, I was hoping we'd find a way to get him and Diaz from the Mariners but the Mets beat us to Diaz.

I like Brantley, but I think the combo of him and Donaldson is a big risk injury/bounce back. If remaining money is spent well, we saved atleast $26 million over two years. Let's see what that is spend on. Offensively, adding castellanos would make a lot of sense. Ender and Acuna play good enough outfield to cover his shortcomings. Markakis would give a LH bat off the bench. Sounds like Tigers price has been too high. This signing also gives Braves a bit of leverage where they aren't "having" to make a move.

From all indications, Hanniger has been untouchable, so not sure that's a good alternative.

There are ton of names that made sense like Castellanos that I would rather have over Markakis. Kakes will start everyday and bat 5. I'd be thrilled with Markakis for $4 mil in a limited role, but it isn't happening.
