Anyone know the rule on mid season jersey number changes?

Curious if there is any NCAA rule that prohibits players from changing uniform numbers during the season.
Tried googling but couldn't find anything credible. Figured someone on the rant is related to Mark Emmert (head of NCAA) and could shoot him a text and ask him this question.
Yes this questions relates to Giles being #7 and if he could switch jerseys with someone if he felt like it or wanted to. I cant recall a player ever switching numbers during the season.

Forget about the #7 and #18 crap. Does it really matter in the whole grand scheme of things? It's a NUMBER. Who gives a damn?

You can change numbers between games just not during games, I believe.

#7 wasn't even a thing really. No name players wore it in the past. It was only a thing because Pat wore it, then Tyrann wore it.
