Police responding to several calls about gunshots in the 500 block of Parklane Drive found Joshua Kidd, 30, lying outside a home with an apparent gunshot wound in his upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
quote:
Detectives are investigating if the shooting is connected to nine car burglaries that happened in the neighborhood recently. Neighbors told KTBS they think Kidd may have tried to confront a burglar when he was shot.
quote:
As part of the investigation, two cars were towed from a nearby home that was also cordoned off with police tape. Police are using a 3-D scanner to try and re-create certain aspects of the crime.
I don’t live far from where this took place, as in, I live in that same neighborhood. Think the guy got shot around 2-4am and the police weren’t called until around 5:30 this morning.
It’s a nicer, upper-middleclass neighborhood and there has been a rash of car break ins in the past couple years but I haven’t heard anything about cars getting broken into here in the last few months.
Damn sad story.

this is an unfortunate example of the importance of our 2nd Ammendment right going forward. Stay ready folks, because they will be armed and dangerous when they come and police won’t be around to save you in time.

Yup. When something goes bump in the night, it’s better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

Agreed.
Better to face your day in court than to face the pearly gates.

Damn. Greenacres is a really nice neighborhood for the most part.

I live in Legacy and we had a rash of car burglaries a few months back. The thieves were caught when one of them was arrested in a car he stole from the neighborhood and he soon ratted out the rest.
Scary thing with these guys is that there were 3 or 4 or them operating together. One would stay in a car as a spotter while the other 2 to 3 would break into cars. Going outside in that situation could be pretty dangerous. You could have one POS covered with your gun and another get you from behind.
In your house, you have an advantage, even over multiple perps...once you step outside you don't.

It is. Although, what’s kind of weird to me is that there have been quite a few houses in the neighborhood go up for rent in the last year, not for sale. Wonder what that’s all about.

Or worse walk into an ambush. Its been documented these guys having someone armed pointing at the front door of a residence with their partner goes through a vehicle.

So people heard gunshots and nobody called it in?

I mean what I’m hearing is that they think he died between 2 and 4 am. People might not have heard anything or they may have been asleep, heard it, and not realized what it was.
I don’t think that people would’ve just coldly not called the police if they realized what they heard were gunshots.

Same in similar neighborhoods in Shreveport. The housing market here is soft, but due in large part to folks moving to Bossier.

And I'll wager a king's ransom the perpetrator(s) should already have been incarcerated for other crimes.

You’re right, they just had to post on Facebook about it first

Weird for it to happen in that neighborhood.

Then someone should have a video of people or cars in the neighborhood during the time.
