Alcohol is responsible for more than 5% of all deaths worldwide, or around 3 million a year, new figures have revealed.
The data, part of a report from the World Health Organization, shows that about 2.3 million of those deaths in 2016 were of men, and that almost 29% of all alcohol-caused deaths were down to injuries – including traffic accidents and suicide.
The report, which comes out every four years, reveals the continued impact of alcohol on public health around the world, and highlights that the young bear the brunt: 13.5% of deaths among people in their 20s are linked to booze, with alcohol responsible for 7.2% of premature deaths overall.

Is this an anti alcohol or anti white man thread?

I’ve almost died three times from it. I haven’t had a drink in 7 months. Once I got in a blackout tiger land fight and went to ICU for 3 days with brain hemmorage and a .31 BAC. Once, I accidentally went in wrong apartment and a person had a loaded gun at the top of the stairs but police got me before I went up there. Once, I totalled my car driving drunk. Alcoholism is so cunning when you’re in it. I look back on how stupid I was.

I believe it. Russians only drink vodka. Day drinking is real in Europe.

Heard a very interesting interview with a very high up official and they are very openly advocating for stuff.
Lady was praising countries that raised sugar and salt taxes and said every country should. Spoke very badly of how alcohol consumption was embarrassing. And she spoke at length to obesity which this board would find interesting. She started talking about how weird it was that more countries don't bike like the danish do and it was obvious she had a very low opinion of fat people.

So......they’re fat. frick’em.
Are we supposed to be impressed they can eat and gain weight, and subsequently not care enough to stop eating as much, or exercise, or acknowledge that being obese is unhealthy, selfish, sinful, and unproductive?
Fats are the worst.

Yep, it's a well known fact marijuana counteracts alcohol.
Marijuana is actually really healthy for you.

I've experimented a lot with weed and alcohol in my own lab and alcohol is far more harmful.

Absolutely. On the bright side, fed legalization is inevitable.

I've almost lost everything abusing alcohol when I was younger..marriage, career, businesses. Luckily I was a highly functional alcoholic. I could always drink a fifth of vodka or a case of beer and get up at 7am.
The effects of marijuana were far, far less. It's a far less harmful drug overall than alcohol. The reefer madness stigma still persists to a certain extent in the South though.

I wonder which Southern state will be first? NC maybe? It's been legal here for so long I almost forget that it's not legal everywhere sometimes.

Bunch of pussies in here, learn how to control yourselves. Blaming your weaknesses on others or other things will get you no where in life.
