Landrieu was able to win elections in Louisiana despite being totally out of the mainstream in her state’s electorate because idiots would repeat the following talking point
“Mary Landriue sits atop important senate spots, which means she is able to bring lots of important pork and resources to Louisiana”

And her office was very good with constituent services especially when it came to the O&G industry. I voted against her at every opportunity I was given but the argument you cite is not entirely bullshite.

Mary was able to BS the low information voters because she always ducked the hard votes.
