I'm guessing 1.13.6 in the lhsaa by laws

I hate when people say this shite "its all politics" or "if they would just get rid of the politics".
Politics is politics. Any type of organization has "politics". That is just part of getting things done. It's not always fair, but you have to "play the game" to some degree. If you want to make some change, I am sure there are ways you can get involved and
You realize he isn't talking about the internal politics of the LHSAA... but rather advocating that the state legislature get involved in cleaning house at the LHSAA... right?

West Monroe recruits.....remember Bradie James. Was at Wossman for his junior year, moves to an apartment near W. Monroe, plays for W. Monroe senior year, then after winning a state championship, turns around and re-enrolls at Wossman and graduates from Wossman

People like Mascona have never experienced what it's like on the public side of this and will never truly understand or actually give a frick about equality.

The kid should be eligible point blank
To be fair... the EC did state that he would retain eligibility at VC... so if he wants to play bad enough... then he has a spot. It would be uncomfortable no doubt and his personal feelings towards the staff would probably make it nearly impossible to do... but he COULD play this year if he wants... then transfer in December to wherever he needs to go.

As if the school that blew the whistle would take him back. Given the quotes from the VC coach in the other thread, that's not really an option, now is it?
From those quotes it appears the VC coach torched any bridge that may have existed.

Like I said... it would be awkward and probably wouldn't work... but then that would show the VC coaches for who they really are... vindictive and petty. Then a lawsuit could potentially be brought against them for damages and discrimination.

LHSAA turns their backs when it comes to actual recruiting. West Monroe, Neville, Ouachita, Sterlington, Ruston, Barbe, Dutchtown and many others recruit all the time but we’ll never hear a peep from the LHSAA about it

The EC said that is possible only if he moves back. The kid has to be eligible somewhere in the place that he currently lives. It's not fair to say "yea you can move back where you used to live and be eligible at that school that fired your Dad." That's extremely dumb.

I agree... that's why it probably wont happen... but thy did give an option if he REALLY wants to try to play.

quote:actually I don't think that is correct- residency is not required if he was previously already eligible at that school and never gained eligibility elsewhere. by moving back I think the meaning was move back to the school. They could bring it before the arbitrator that was set up after the kid that was too old a few years ago -

hardship request before all of this would have been best bet.

Can the LHSAA prove the Dad did this though.
Yes. The star football child went with dad to a rented apartment
The other child stayed in school, in the same parish that star football brother was leaving, so . . . . The 'family' wasn't actually moving to Hahnville, now was it?

ya know there's this whole concept of minors not being able to make their own decisions . . . . His parents broke enough rules, using him as the bait, that they were the ones who made him ineligible, not the LHSAA
Plus, its not like the dad hasn't been an LHSAAA coach, for like decades, or anything? I mean how was he supposed to know the rules, amirite?

If this is the case I agree with the ruling then.

The vid I watched made it seem like he would have to move back to his previous residence to attend VC but I could certainly be wrong.
