Details? Where is that rig?

About 75 miles east of Myrtle Beach.

Still well to the west of where the eye of the storm is, so its gonna get a lot worse on that livestream

Any idea how close the storm will be to the platform this afternoon while there is still enough light to see what is going on?

It was never a drilling rig.

It was a lighthouse modeled after a drilling platform.

yeah. that’s gonna suck.

i was on one once with sustained winds in the low 50s and gusts into the low 70s.
and that was not fun.

we had the added double whammy of it being winter with temps in high 30s and raining.
completely miserable experience.

Frying Pan Shoals Light Tower is a decommissioned lighthouse located approximately 39 miles southeast of Southport, North Carolina and 32 miles from Bald Head Island, North Carolina

I was looking at that yesterday. The owner sounds like he’s turning it into a sketchy timeshare property. $5000 fractional sales.

Gonna have 300 owners with just over a day each to use it.

I saw that. I don't know if that's going to work out for him

People getting butt hurt over the flag in this thread is ridiculous. People will find anything to get upset about, just sad.

As for the pics you posted. I can only assume the flags on the wall represent all of the storms that platform has survived, that's pretty damn cool.
