mond in the 2nd half saturday vs the #2 team in the country: 16/23
(70%), 333 yards, 3 td
Mond was 23/40 for 430 and 3 TDs.
EtA: I read your op wrong. My apologies. Mond showed out last night. and last season Mond was meh. Jimbo is changing that program's direction quick. Still will take 3 years imo to turn it completely around. LSU will still probably be a shite show offensively unless the leadership takes its head out of its asses.

whats the deal here? burrow is a 4th year junior, has a former biletnikoff semifinalst and current watchlist member, randy moss' son, multiple 4 and 5 star weapons all over the field, the next marshawn lynch, the best JUCO OT in the country, an OL coach with multiple super bowl rings, a wr coach with 20+ years nfl experience, teammates that truly love him, an OC that has set multuple school records and is installing the best parts of every offense ever created into 1 offense, and a HC that has learned from his past mistakes.
Because Jimbo is one of the best offensive and QB coaches in the country and outside of Saban in the next tier below of quality coaches. What I saw last night was why I wanted Jimbo Bad..Bad bad bad. And the big boosters wanted him too.. Thanks Alleva

So why was FSU #88 in the nation in total offense last year with a roster full of top 5 recruiting classes?
Do you think it possibly had to do with their starting QB going down for the season in the opener against Alabama? They were forced to play a true freshman the rest of the season who was only 170 lbs.

One lost and the other won. More yards is awesome.

quote:you're overlooking that jimbo just smoked one of the best defenses in the country to the tune of 500 yards which propelled his team to a near win over the 1a/1b best program in the nation in only his 2nd game there.
a few things go differently and Clemson is resting their starters with a 28 point lead
meanwhile back on the ranch....lsu's fancy new passing game was torching slu. not.

Why did the whisperer have only those two choices?
Posted on 9/9/18 at 8:01 pm to bfniii
a&m trailed the entire game and they had to pass. Clemson underestimated a&m at home and thought their front 4 could control the game. they were trying to hold on, playing a little prevent D.
yes, I think mond has matured AND jimbo has helped him. still, the game situation was different.
1 more thing - a&m lost the game.
let's see how A&M does the rest of the year before handing them a trophy.

One lost and the other won.
quote:exactly. the discussion is comparing apples to apples. one team's offense smoked a top defense. the other team looked lethargic against an outmanned squad. and if you want to say that motivation was an issue, explain auburn's offensive output.
More yards is awesome.

quote:ah. so you're a mind reader. wow. that must come in handy

quote:changing the subject again. look, this argument was made over and over defending miles until lsu WASN'T winning games with that moribund offensive strategy. then he got fired. o is moving in the same direction and basically everyone can see it.
1 more thing - a&m lost the game.
quote:this sounds like a reasonable perspective but it fails to acknowledge what jimbo's offense accomplished last night vs how lsu looked.

OK.....then tell me why he had to start a true freshman instead of RS Junior JJ Cosentino - a former 4* recruit that Fisher had coached for 4 years? Tell me why he wasn't able to coach up Sean Maguire to beat out FR Francois in 2016 after 5 years in the program?

another item - a&m's receivers made a lot of great catches and some lucky catches. they were helping their qb. sure, he put it where they had a chance, and I give him credit. remember that last td? - should've been an interception. great concentration by the receiver to catch it.
can't have a great qb without great receivers. a&m's receivers played great in the second half.

I'm sure A&M will put 500 yards on quite a few opponents. They did it quite often under Sumlin.....usually against a cupcake or in a shootout against a quality opponent.
Just last year.....
471 yards against UCLA in a 45-44 shootout
501 yards against Arkansas in a 50-43 shootout
496 yards against Auburn in a 42-27 loss behind by 2 TDs most of the 2nd half
562 yards against cupcake New Mexico (43 pass attempts in a 41 point win)
614 yards against Wake Forest in a 55-52 shootout (63 pass attempts)

Did you forget that their starting QB went down in game 1 and was out for the year?
Posted on 9/10/18 at 3:46 pm to Open Your Eyes
Monds last TD should have been intercepted.
