I'm tired of dropping $40 every few months for ink cartridges that seems to last about 100 printings.
What's a good home printer that lasts quit some time?

The printer ink industry is a scam. It's cheaper to buy a new printer than ink cartridges in some case. I just stopped printing shite.

Is your answer especially if you don't print very often and don't need color
Inkjet cartridges tend to dry up and lose life if you're like me and print just a few pages over 3 months

Just buy a new printer every time the ink runs out. It doesn't cost much more.

Laser
I have an HP Color LaserJet 2600. Got it over 10 years ago, still works really well. I print in color sporadically, and haven't had to replace a color toner cartridge in about 5 years. I paid a total of $250 for the three color cartridges. That means I spent less than $20/year per cartridge.

Sabre printers are decent and reasonably priced. Heard rumors of them catching fire, but it was probably nothing.
