I'm also interested because I play a guitar gig at an assisted living facility every Friday and I want to start doing more songs than I know.
Print chords and lyrics so I can play stuff that I don't know and they might.

Sabre printers are decent and reasonably priced. Heard rumors of them catching fire, but it was probably nothing.
They’ve gotten much better since David Wallace bought the company from Robert California.

Scanner Pro app. I haven’t used a real scanner in 2 years.

get a laser printer. Slightly more upfront but even the toner cartridge that the printer comes with will probably last you 6mos at least unless you're printing an insane volume. Inkjets are a waste of money now, especially since the price of toner cartridges for laser printers have dropped so much. I get a 2pack on Amazon for like $20 and that is enough for ~3k pages.

we print. Wife is an artist so we print lots. printer ink is toxic and if ya breathe it too much it makes ya sick. We bad need another option. Even with ventilation the wife still suffers from the ink she has scarred lungs. Any of you have a non toxic recommendation?

Office Lens (and it's competitors) do this really well. You don't have to get the pic perfectly centered, the software does that for you and converts to PDF pretty much automatically. I prefer converting to Word so I can fix OCR problems before saving to PDF.
But if you need a volume scanning solution a real scanner is the way to go,

Probably find some dot matrix pretty cheap.
But really- laser.

you mean the toner she's allergic to? A decent printer shouldn't be getting the toner airborne. I sit near a printer and we go through about 2 cases of paper a month and I've never had any issues.
If it's a major issue I guess you have to pony up for ink cartridges. How many pages a month are you printing? I assume a lot of it is color? If it's a substantial amount have you looked at leasing a larger machine? Toner/ink is free with most machine leases and if she's printing stuff that needs to be high quality and is for a business, that might be the way to go.

. I paid a total of $250 for the three color cartridges. That means I spent less than $20/year per cartridge
That's really reasonable. It would be many times that with bubble or ink jet printers.

I purchased the Epson ET-2550 that has very large ink wells.
It's great that I haven't had to refill in over two years.
But that's where the good news ends. It's basically a piece of junk.

I've banished those things. I go to FedEx Office.
