Poor gas mileage. I get 20 mpg in my F150 and my max towing capacity is 11,500 lbs.

Assembled in Canton, MS.
How might the build quality be impacted if the workers are mainly from Canton, MS?
I’ll hangup and listen.

I've been a Ford guy my entire life, with the exception of one Tundra. My 2011 F-150 was about to hit 100k miles and just looked terrible. Nothing held up on it, brakes were going out again, and all shocks and struts had been changed once already.
I got the Titan XD gas. MPG isn't the best, but I'm ok with it. This truck actually feels like a truck, and the 5.6 is a very proven engine. I test drove a couple F-150s but couldn't pay what they wanted for what the product was. I feel like most 1/2 ton trucks now aren't built to last being a "truck." Now if you only load a few grocery bags in them for their life, I'm sure they will last.
I've got almost 10k on mine, including a nonstop trip of almost 24 hours with no problems or complaints yet.

Nissans are a pos.
And they built stuff that killed our boys in WWII.
No thanks.

Well it can’t be any worse than a dodge.

The newest one is one of the ugliest trucks on the road.
I sorta hate the new dodge looks also

The single cab is bad. It looks like a wedge with a bed

I love the new Titans. I'm considering he Titan Platinum. Their seats are amazing

No love comes from the ugliest truck on the market and the clans of brand buying baws.
They are extremely reliable and powerful little bastards. Don't believe the magazines and your neighbor. Ask a local mechanic or parts salesman. They know what breaks.

Driveline is way overbuilt for a half ton.
Too bad the actual towing and payload capacities are marginal even against regular 1/2-ton trucks. It gets blown out of the water by 3/4-ton trucks. Nissan makes great engines, they don't know shite about the American truck market and it shows.

I know what you mean. The Tundra also feels like a truck. It’s not too smooth and car like. My wife hates driving my truck bc it feels like a truck, which is good for me.

Tundra level gas mileage without Tundra level reliability reputation.

quote:I looked at the Platinum pretty hard for a bit. Ended up with the XD SL diesel. The only options I don't have are air conditioned seats, the all around view camera, and the different color seats that come in the platinums. Couldn't justify spending an extra $10k for those few options.

I ended up going with the diesel because I drive a ton for work and pull a boat in my spare time. If it wasn't for emmision standards, that Cummins would be way more bad arse. I think the tune and delete will give you over 125 HP and ft lbs of torque while also getting rid of the need for DEF. I have a 100,000 mile warranty I don't want to void or I would have done it already.
I love my Titan XD. I have always been a Chevy guy and finally branched out. One of the only knocks I have is the size of the fuel tank. Other than that, truck has been great and pulls the shite out of my boat.

People in this thread keep dogging the gas mileage of the new titan and have no idea what they are talking about. In my 2017 I get 18/20 all day long with 3” lift and 33s on 20 inch rims. The new titans with the 7 speed get significantly better Mileage than the precious generations, and its one of only 2 trucks that is still a full time v8.

This is their main problem. They could have made what amounted to a 3/4 ton truck from the 90's (a decent niche considering how large trucks have become), but they put a semi-floating rear axle from their vans in the truck because that's "heavy duty" for them. The rear axle weight rating isn't even high enough to pull a gooseneck trailer with any load on it.
It's a half ton truck with the driveability, fuel economy, and maintenance of a 3/4 ton. If I were Cummins I'd be pissed, and would be telling them to make an HD XD with a real free floating axle to get the towing numbers up to promote their new engine application.

I think they messed up by giving the diesel option. I totally agree with you that it doesn't compare to 3/4 ton diesels, but I disagree about a Titan XD with the gas engine. They weight 65-6700 lbs, which is comparable to the older generation 3/4 ton trucks.
The tow ratings may be similar to a aluminum F-150 with an Ecoboost, but please get that truck and a Titan XD and pull the same 11,500 lb trailer and let me know which one can actually control the trailer. My F-150 was only rated for 8500 lbs, and when i was even close to that rate it was a terrible towing experience.

I had an 89 K2500 Chevy with the old LO5 HD 350 in it. I used to pull a 32' gooseneck cattle trailer with it (not very fast, however). Titan has much more power, but much less actual towing ability due to the rear axle design and rating.
The titan would be very suited to pull a 24' flatbed gooseneck or similar - but you can't put much weight on the rear axle, because it isn't designed for it. The factory gooseneck option is kind of a joke because you don't have the ability to haul loads with heavy tongue weights.
It is the truck equivalent of a linebacker playing footall in high heels. Looks the part, but dainty where the rubber meets the road.
Nissan should fix this ASAP. I know they think their market data shows people will never pull a heavy trailer anyway, but they should swallow their pride and offer a 3rd party rear axle on the diesel.
