Curious to see if anyone in here has used madden homes in Denham Springs for houseplants? We like one of his stock plans with just a few modifications, but i was curious if his plans are real expensive to build (roof cuts etc). Anyone experience with him or can recommend an other draftsman/architect. TIA

Yes...very easy to work with. Ask him for help and listen to his advice. We had our plans drawn out but he suggested changes that really made a big difference

Yes, my wife & I have. Approx 10yrs ago. He was really easy to work with, had minimal problems/issues. Would use him again..

Foyer leads to family room then opens up to kitchen, long hallway circles around the back and BOOM . . . great room.

Living in the Poydrus right now.
Made some mods with my builder to make minor changes.
Was the second home I built with the same builder and he said these plans were easier to build from than the first set we got from Acadian Home Design.
ETA: Both Steve and his wife were great to work with!

I bought some stock plans from him. I asked about modifying some things on the plans and was told it would be 1.75 a sq ft to do the changes. A neighbor is having customs ones drawn up by him and it has taken a little bit longer than expected and longer than what was told to them (I do not know the details).
Don’t pay them for the pfd format, you can take the large plans to Office Depot and have them converted for a fraction of the price Madden will charge.
We were told by the builder that the shower on the plans was not up to code as the way it was designed...that’s probably the only negative.

Yes, currently building a modified St. Charles plan. Very smooth experience and would recommend. Tons of look books in the lobby that you should go check out.

It’s hit or miss. Past threads on here about Madden has gotten negative reviews.
I found him a bit of a pain in the arse. Fairly unresponsive and not the easiest to work with. His designs are great, albeit within his “style”. He took forever, had to schedule him over 2 months in advance, and took him 4 months to modify the plans. It wasn’t a pleasant experience IMO, but I like the design we received. He missed a lot of small things on the plans, but it took him so long to respond/correct them, I just worked them out with my contractors instead of having it on the plans.
If you can get a stock plan, and work the modifications with your contractor, that’d probably be the best route. Assuming they are minor enough to be captured that way.

yeah i think they are, its mainly some omissions, but also adding a wall to add in a hall closet, simple things that i think can be worked on the construction side.

gsvar2004 - Did you end up using Madden Home Design? How was the process and did you modify anything if you did use him? I'm looking at the Melrose and would like to make a few adjustments. Just trying to decide if I want to go thru Madden Home and if he was a decent experience.

He has some odd methods, for instance, he draws all his blueprints with a telestrator.
