I think the Ram looks sharp. I'm currently in a F150 and like it, but kind of in the market for a new truck. I'm not ruling a Ram out. The transmission issues that have plagued them have long been solved, even though people still use that as their go-to to bash Rams trucks.

I've owned 3 Rams and they were all fine vehicles for me. Drove all 3 over 100k with no major issues. I bought an F150 last year just to try something different.

That's 427 to 549 fill ups over the course of 200k miles.

That's like 8k extra in gas over that time assuming gas averages about $2.50

I have a ram I bought in december. 30k already and no issues. Feel like it was a great value compared to the other 3. Rides great, v8 hemi has plenty of power, tech is great..

I have a 2015 Ram with 75k miles and no issues. Wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.

OP clearly states that this is between the 3 main domestic automakers
Tundra is more American than both the Chevy and Dodge. The Ford barely beats it out

News flash everyone... ALL OF THEM are excellent these days. The days of denigrating one make vs the other are over. The profits of these companies are built on this segment. They can no longer afford to produce crap in this segment.

So let's try to stop the silly references to transmissions breaking, looking pretty on the side of the road, etc comments? It makes you appear uninformed.

2010 ram 1500 5.7 160,000 miles here. Nothing done to it but routine maintenance. Would absolutely buy another.

The difference between 18mpg and 14 mpg on a 26 gallon tank which is both the chevy and tundra's standard size, is 468 to 364 miles per tank.

Where do y'all get these numbers? Do y'all even own a Tundra? I get 15mpg in the city and around 20-21 on the Hwy with 33" all terrain tires.

The reason why y'all think Tundra is so much worse is because the actual tank size is not used in the normal gauge. There is something like a 5.5 gallon reserve so you only see on the gauge around 21 gallons thus making you go to the gas station more.

So you're going off of a 10 year old comparison? Geez.

Car and Driver

quote:

The Tundra has the worst fuel economy in its class. While it’s not single-digit bad and its competitors don’t exactly sip fuel either, even the most efficient Tundra can’t get an EPA rating higher than 19 mpg

quote:

The EPA rates the rear-wheel-drive 4.6-liter V-8 at 15 mpg city, 19 mpg highway—fuel efficiency goes south from there. The Tundra’s 5.7-liter V-8 with four-wheel drive has the lowest EPA estimates at 13 mpg city, 17 mpg highway.
