What Is Something Every Person Should Own?

Are there things that women should own in which mean doesn't need and vice versa?

I would say a gun and at least one knife but there are some people I know, who makes me sleep better at night, knowing they don't have a gun. There are some crazy fricks who get easily get worked up, who would not hesitate to shoot someone if there was a gun right in front of them.

Anyway, this is just a few items, out of the norm, I thought of.
