I'm not an "I told you So" kind of guy, but the OL is going force it out.
Just wait. It's going to be an unmitigated disaster of epic proportions.
Those who have their eyes open can see it coming.
Cregg must be and saying to himself, WTF did I get myself into. Hey Ponamsky, book me on the quickest flight to Milwaukee or Madison. I need to start program saving OL recruiting right now.

The two tackles, Charles and magee, played a lot and played well last year. Then you have brumfield, and many have claimed Lewis is legit. It may take a little time to gel, but me thinks you don't have a clue what you keep spewing.

Yep, basically shitting on the class, as usual.

PFF rated a LSU line that couldn’t pass block the top line in the SEC in 2015.

Exactly. The class Eaux just signed, despite being the lowest rated class we've signed in over a decade, met needs across the board and from what I've read all summer, depth is not a problem so missing a guy here or there shouldn't be significant to this group.
Kristy is a pussy and needs to get a life too. Totally unrelated but she's got like 600 posts in 2 weeks? Wtf?

that’s true. He has built us the line with phenomenal depth
I feel like on the DL we've pretty much arrived there.
On the OL, we still need 1 more class to come in before we're truly comfortable there. Ingram kind of threw a wrench into things this year and at this point it really seems like they're skeptical of Cush being an SEC level center.
The 2019 class could really bring in some great guys and create great depth on the OL next year:
OT
SR. Traore
SR. Magee - Can play inside
JR. Charles - Can play inside
JR. Deculus - Can play inside
JR. Savage
rFR. Wire
FR. Thomas (2019)
FR. Bradford (2019) - Can play inside
Interior OL
SR. Lewis
SR. Campbell
JR. Cushenberry
rFR. Hines
rFR. Smith
FR. Thomas (2019)
FR. Turner (2019)
And they are possibly going to add a 5th linemen to that

Big disappointment so far. For a guy his size he should be a mauler. From what I hear he has been like a timid child in camp.

What does this have to do with Cushenberry? In the Miami - LSU comparison by PFF last week he was LSU's highest rated Olineman.
I can’t believe I’m saying this...I agree with Ree.

true first time in a long time the depth actually has some talent.

not phenomenal, not great numbers, but better than we have had in the past as far as talented depth goes. Losing Ingram hurt because he was probably our best OL but we have plenty of player who can step in and play at a high level.
If Brumfeild stays at guard then you him and Lewis starting with Deculous, Campbell, and Hines as backups.
If it's Magee and Charles at tackle then you have Troare, Savage, and Deculous as backups (also Wire of course but looks like he needs a redshirt year)
At center you have Cushenberry with Brumfield backing him up (Cole Smith needs a redshirt year)

I agree
The O Line is probably more talented but shallower. The DLine is deeper but at this point a lot of projects who would be little
More than bodies.
We gotta stay healthy either way or we could be super fricked.

That's a good point actually. I feel reassured about the OL situation.

I know you get it, but he and another poster are being their sarcastic, typical negative selves. Amazing that we have a staff that has went out and actually addressed needs, either by recruiting or transfer, and still you have those bitching.

I don't think the possible line shuffle was ever due to Cush sucking. He had 4 bad snaps in the spring game, but I think it was mainly because Damien Lewis was just THAT good. They wanted him out there, and the only way to make that happen was putting him in at Guard. Of course, Ingram made sure none of that theory crafting mattered.
So they had a choice, move Bruiser to 2nd string or slide him over to Center. Then it became, who do you want to keep out there between Bruiser and Cush, and the answer to that question is pretty obvious. So the solution was slide Bruiser to Center so Damien can get on the field at LG and you have your 5 best out there.

Why the frick doesn’t LSU recruit corn fed linemen

That's unrelated to Cush at center though. They have been trying Brumfield out at center quite a bit throughout summer/fall (And did a little last year even)...and have said multiple times they are pushing Brumfield at center...which every time sounds like a shot at Cushenberry. I just think they feel Cush isnt maybe a "Best 5" guy on the line and that's what they're trying to get out there.
Posted on 8/23/18 at 1:11 pm to The Baker
Cush is going to do fine at center. Traore and Decalus have little to with center.
Posted on 8/23/18 at 1:24 pm to justice
I sure hope it's because he has adjusted to the tremendous speed he is seeing and not because our other player aren't that good. No matter how good and talented you are, there is an adjustment time when you start going against far greater players than you ever have before. It shows how good he really is or was just great against mediocre competition
