Per Spiegs.

After seeing him this Spring, I'm not uber excited about this. Previously it was Deculus and Magee battling it out but supposedly Deculus moved inside to left guard.

Also apparent Lawrence, Alexander and Shelvin were all absent today, as was Terrace Marshall.

Probably means Magee locked it up, but they need to keep pushing his arse by saying Traore is challenging.

Deculus is probably good, but they need to get Cushenberry's arse outta there.

What does this have to do with Cushenberry?

In the Miami - LSU comparison by PFF last week he was LSU's highest rated Olineman.

Hope this means he stepped up. This guy was supposed to be the crown jewel of the recruiting class.

This thread has all the projected starters for LSU and Miami. The PFF website may have a way to do a search.

Deculus and Lewis are 2 pretty powerful interior players so that's a positive

I’m very confused. The starting line at practice today was Charles, Brumfield, Cush, Lewis, and Traore. Deculus was backing up Lewis. How does this in anyway suggest Brumfield to center?

No idea

Doesn't make sense unless they're just determined to get Deculus on the field and they think that Brumfield is an upgrade over Cush.

More likely that Deculus would be a swing player in this situation

Exactly. And I for one think Deculus will be a very good swing/versatile OLman with OT being the focus.... one day.

Now, the real question is when. Probably starting Sept 2nd. Because there's not going to be much choice. He'll be subbing in at OG and OT as needs arise and change. He's not quite ready for it yet.

We've seen experience by necessity do wonders before. I think that's Deculus' destiny for the first half of this season. The experience he gains this season, some of it will bad, will be a rough but necessary final step for him to be ready to start.

Btw, OG is where you want to struggle to take your lumps. They'll look to get him in often there and as dictated at OT.
