List your personal top 5 places to raise a family. Factors that matter are public school system, crime and overall family friendly town.

1. Mandeville
2. Deridder
3. Zachary
4. West Monroe
5. Pineville

I realize most of these places are lacking “things to do” but I feel like these communities are some of the best in the state to raise kids and put them through the public school system. They are all pretty safe and aside from Pineville, they all are within 40 minutes or so of a city that has things to do.

Mandeville near the lake would be my choice of anywhere in the state.

What they have that other places with the good schools is great restaurants for places that size. A few good bars as well.
And of course it's close to Nola.

And there is a lot less trashy rednecks in the area.

I’d add Natchitoches to the list.

Especially if your kids were smart enough to get into LSMSA for 10th, 11th and 12th grade.

I think youngsville should be on the list. Not feeling Pineville. Live in Alexandria now and it and Pineville both kinda suck.
