With some realizations that big pharma and corporate marketing are going to commercialize the product and change the use and impact of weed as we know it...

Would it be better if there was a situation where it was still illegal but not enforced?

If you want it made legal that badly then you probably already have a way to get it illegally

Marketing will only go so far if people are allowed to grow it/sell it themselves.

Wouldn't affect me.

Now if they made cocaine legal that would change my life.

I'd really like for it to be legal, not just decriminalized. If a good percentage of younger folks eliminate themselves from the professional job market via failed drug tests or just lethargy, I can easily stay employed through retirement.

But don't misunderstand me: legal or not, keep toking, competitors!

I for one would like it legalized if the taxes were used in a positive manner to improve the state. I doubt that would ever be the case in LA.

If potheads weren't such lazy burnouts, they probably would have gotten the laws passed by now. They only have themselves to blame.

My city has decriminalized it so that possession is just a fine like a traffic violation. I am fine with that for now. At least you do not have to worry about going to jail and being on probation for having a joint in your pocket.

this is like asking how bad do you really want gay marriage made legal a few years ago.

Answer being, couldn't care less but don't see why it's illegal.

Good point.

Is there any concern of corporate weed farms?

My thought is that if big pharma is going to get into the market then they are going to want to control it or at least exert significant impact on it. And they have the political influence to help them do so.

The only way legalization would really impact me is more available strains and edibles, which would be nice. But economic pressure from legal states has already caused drastic price drops in my illegal state. And Harris County proper has essentially "decriminalized" anyway.

It should be legal b/c it's the right thing to do, but won't bother me too much one way or the other.

Current setup is fine with me. Legal at state level, I don't do anything that would attract the feds. I wouldn't mind if it were legal nationwide and don't think it should be schedule 1 but I'm not going to march in the streets about it.

In some states I imagine so. In others I would say no. Like the NW states. People aren't going to buy from a corporate company, they'll buy from a local one.

This opens the door for slective enforcement and legal extortion.

Just legalize it.
