This is an abstract that doesn't really mean anything.
It will mean something if Kobach loses in November and puts a liberal Governor in a red state.

An entire statewide election is not a toy to play with.

Why are you anti-Kobach/think he won’t win? I don’t know anything about him besides being on Trump’s voting fraud thing that went nowhere.

Kansas has a history of electing democrat Governors. Brownback barely won reelection back in 2014.
Kobach gets a shite ton of hate from his own conservative constituents. Anecdotally know a few in Kansas who would fit right in on this board and they fricking hate him.
It reminds me of David Vitter and Jeff Landry here in Louisiana. On paper, they've done nothing wrong and are doing all the right things but they just rub people the wrong way so much that people that call themselves republicans want to vote against them or stay home.
I'm pretty fricking conservative and share a lot of Kobach's beliefs and if I'm feeling this way about him, how do you think moderate republicans are in kansas?
I hope I'm wrong and Kobach crushes it but I won't be surprised if he fumbles this one away.

Sounds like Trump yet he keeps winning.

I already said there is only one Donald Trump and can only be one Donald Trump.
He's his own animal.

Kansas and their 4 dollar I 70 toll to travel 25 miles over an interstate built in the 1950s ... modern highway robbery....
They suck
They suck

60% of Republican voters have voted for someone without an * by his name.

Preaching to the wrong person on about toll roads. I drive ours daily and love every freaking mile of uncongested, pot-hole free concrete. Accident or emergency occurs? Tollway Authorities are there to change a tire, give 2 gallons of gas or clear the lanes within minutes. I happily pay every toll every day.

I go west often. I-70 is the major thoroughfare most people used to travel West.... the Kansas Turnpike makes up 25 or so miles of I-70 there is no way around it... cost me four bucks to go through it each way last week. The Road was built in the 1950s. It is not built up to Federal Highway standards and is the poorest that stretch of road on I 70 . The original bill that created the toll road specified that the toll would terminate on reimbursement of the state expense to build the road. It has been paid for many times over. Now it is simply used as a revenue-generating measure, raising around 100 million annually per year, from tourists heading west

Generally even the state party avoids backing a candidate in a primary.
Colyer replaced Brownback who had lost support from many republicans. That said, I voted for Kobach because Colyer plans to continue his medical practice if he wins. We need a full time governor. Dr. Colyer botched the care of my sister. She paid his fees with cash...couple of months later she was contacted by a collection agency set upon her by his practice. Lucky she saved her receipt....she was very pissed about situation, and thinks he is a quack.

Colyer would not have that problem and have an easier time winning the election.
Maybe. The dems will have to spend a ton of money here regardless if they want to win. Brownback was very unpopular and won re-election. If anything, Republicans in Kansas will be more enthusiastic about voting for Trump this go around and will be less likely to abstain or vote for an independent in the gubernatorial race.

BTW, Kobach leads by just 541 votes this morning with 5% of precincts still not reporting.

I doubt conservatives will let that happen again for a while.

Johnson Co votes should be posted by 8am. Sounds like they will do a recount no matter who wins.

Trump had no business backing a horse in that race.
More like an arse than a horse. The only Republican in this primary that did anything for me was the CPA/former insurance commissioner guy whose name I can't remember. The fact that I can't remember the name of the candidate that made the best impression on me is pretty telling in this race. Kobach is as much of an attention whore as Jim Acosta and Collyer was hand picked by Brownback, the worst governor this state has had, Republican or Democrat, since I have been alive, to be his lieutenant governor. If Kobach wins I will be "just shoot me." If Collyer wins I will be "shooting is probably a touch of an overreaction, just pistol whip me."

Slow down, the "incumbent" has only been on the job for seven months.

And since we somehow got on the subject there is no stretch of I-70 in worse shape in Kansas than any stretch of I-70 in Missouri. You can argue it should be in better shape (and considering there has been road construction on it somewhere in the state continually for the last 40 years you would be right) but it is not the worst stretch of I-70.

Everyone in this thread needs to pay attention to posts like this.
It's similar to what I'm hearing from my people in Kansas. The GOP would be in very deep trouble with Kobach as the nominee and they're going to have to really work their arse off to push that rock up the hill.
I hope I'm wrong and Kobach crushes it though.

It looks like no one gets 50%. Does KS not have a run-off?

I would think at this point most folks would realize that President Trump is working off of a more advanced and successful Life Equation than the rest of us. To suppose you understand his motives is really kinda funny.
If you have ever run a successful business you know even the Night Cleaning Team's contributes to the rhythm of success in that business. They are no more separate from the success of that business than your Top Employee
And NO I am not saying they should be paid the same
