Let me explain the diversion. It's always right versus left, black versus white, rich versus poor, and Republican versus Democrat. It's all a game of distraction. It's sleight of hand. Both parties are the same and it is why nothing really changes. The government continues to get bigger. People slowly lose their rights. It's what our founders tried to warn us of. When is the last time that the Dems and Reps ever really agreed on anything big? They don't because they need to take both sides of every issue. They are two sides of the same coin. Once you see it and see that it is all a game, the world comes into focus. It's about control and money. It's about power. This is why, on every issue, Reps will take a stand and Dems will take the opposing view, just because. They need us to disagree and argue passionately. The media distracts us with pointless things like this mythical Russian collusion scandal and Stormy Daniels. Meanwhile, both parties pass a HUGE HUGE HUGE temporary budget, with all kinds of governmental power grabs included and hardly a person says a word.

Right versus left? It's all just a game. It's very discouraging to see how much everyone is distracted and playing into this whole system.

I try not to play the 2 party game. That's why I voted for Trump.

Trump is no different. He's the ultimate distraction. He signed the OMNIBUS into law.

He hasn't repealed Obamacare, nor has he really tried to. He hasn't given any power back to the states and brought the CIA more into the White House. He's the same as the rest. You're falling into the trap.

I'm sorry that the truth hurts. You know that Trump voted for Obama twice and was a registered Democrat most of his life? You actually believe that, all of a sudden, this man becomes the conservative "outsider?" He's been playing politics his whole life.

This is demonstrably untrue

I'm not saying Trump is the huge outsider he pretends to be, but saying he has taken power away from states is untrue, he's actually given powers that Obama stole from Congress back to Congress and powers that Obama stole from states back to states in multiple instances.

President does not have the power to repeal Obamacare. Secondly, he's dismantled Obamacare by himself, as much as he can. Ultimately, the demise of Obamacare legislatively is handled by....THE LEGISLATURE. What world are you living in?

The President is a voice of influence and does in fact sign bills into law after it passes the legislature. Executive Orders are unconstitutional and should never be used. The only dismantling that he has done was to pull out the only damn good thing that was in there in the first place; the ban on preexisting condition exemptions. Obamacare should be GONE.

I have to roll my eyes at you

Because even in a multi-party system, or 3rd party as some like to classify themselves, once elected you still have to form a coalition in order to govern. You still have to claim a majority

Your ideology only works in a kingdom. Guess what? That system sucks worse

So cut to the chase. 2 opposing parties, and separate the wheat from the chaff to further define the parties. Its an ongoing process.

Here's the problem; there are no more Dem options. I'm old enough to remember when some Dems were better than Reps and when they were elected they worked with the Reps for the betterment of the country......I 'member.

And what is the alternative, once reality is applied?

Yes, that's right, socialist democrat control of almost everything. At best, you split the republican party down the middle. You won't pull 5% from the socialist democrats.

The only way this makes any sense at all is if you have decided to concede the future to socialist democrat control, and intend to pick up the pieces after the inevitable collapse.

I am completely aware that the more things change the more they stay the same. Like when Trump/Republicans tell the people they want to put an end to Dept of Ed when what they really intend to do is merge the dept of Ed with the Dept of Labor.... one huge money grubbing freedom slashing monster.... keeping all programs in place along with massive amounts of unconstitutional data collection/ tracking of kids and invasion of privacy as they make their way through the “system”. End game is the same for both parties... To get as much control over citizens as possible.
Good to see that there is intelligent life on the poliboard. It's a rarity.

Post more.

A 3rd party is also a slight of hand that is meant to result in a single ruling party. If you have 3 you have 1.

What Republican voters did in 2016 was to begin rebuilding the party from within from what it had become. That's healthy. It was needed (IMO). And, it removed a significant part of the party that was "the same as the democrats". More needs to be done for sure.

Democrats haven't done this yet (and may not). Their party has continued to move away from the people and towards Washington and special interests. Either they will throw the establishment out themselves in the near future, or they will continue to get further and further away from the will of the people. Instead of naturally moving that way, the leaders of the party are instead working to find ways to control their votes via their appeals to special interests and flat out authoritarian tactics (propaganda, weaponizing of government agencies, etc.)

But you aren't playing the 2 party game, you're playing the establishment game, and the establishment has control over the political system. So if you voted for Trump, you actually voted for the establishment political system.

This is what you folks fail to realize.
