The tailgate you’re referencing is the one put on by the LSU Alumni Association Traveling Tigers.

No it the “Official” LSU Alumni tailgate party

If I go I’ll be at Mavericks Bar and Grill. We were there for both Oregon and TCU and had a great time and they also have a bus to and from the stadium.

This is the one we'll be attending. IMHO, it's just a damn good deal....

I've been trying to get them to do events that actually make sense for some time, but they don't seem to be very open minded. I even had the owner of a popular uptown bar calling them offering to donate a scholarship and kick out Clemson to become just another official LSU watch bar (actually in Dallas and near the younger crowd uptown which makes complete sense) and the Dallas Alumni Association wouldn't give him the time of day. Pretty frustrating. We have the potential to have such a great group, but they are set in their ways.

Yea I know what you mean. I’ve emailed them and reached out several times about getting more involved and nobody gets back to me or if they do it’s just to ask me for $$$

I've done the same. I even had someone personally recommend me to them when they were looking to add another person to the board for party planning. Never heard from them. They do zero events uptown which is where the next generation soon to have money to donate is living right now.

About 10 years ago they had a pretty fun base over there. I don't remember the name but it was a bar in the Lower Greenville area. Had some former band members that would show up with instruments and a couple of former players. Good times.

Probably Dodies. They still have that, but it gets so packed that it becomes nearly impossible to watch a game there unless you get there early and score a table. Plus, for people that live uptown they would have to uber there and back to go out after the games. Adding another location in Dallas would be beneficial for them to keep a strong base. Now everyone is scattered around at different places because they don't want to deal with the hassle of Dodies.

I’m actually a fan of Dodies watch parties and generally can get a table or bench at least upstairs.
Multiple watch parties can also water down the experience

dude, nothing around Jerryworld is cheap. It costs a couple = $400 to $500 to attend a Cowboys game. Not including hotel, if you are from out of town. Forget taking a family.

Start a second group. Put together a couple of great parties and no one will care that you're not the "official" grouo.

No I’ll set one up with my friends and we will bring our own stuff, and there will be several other people I know who will do the same.
that stadium sucks for tailgating and there is a chance they won't let you set up before a certain time, like last time.

Im gonna say, having been to every game LSU has played at Jerry's place since it was built, it is my least favorite venue, and I would only go back if they played USC, or if a championship was on the line.

I could list all the reasons why and why Atlanta or New Orleans are better, but that stuff has already been covered.
